As we know, the physical form of DAESH has been crushed in Rojava. But what actually happened during the revolution? And whether DAESH is even defeated alltogether is a topic of huge controversy.
The YPG and YPJ defense forces of Western Kurdistan, Rojava, put up a herioc resistence against the barbaric forces of DAESH, who later admitted to having had special millitary training in the borders of Turkey. Their logistic came from Turkey, and so did their weapons. They saw professional medical treatment in Antep. The people of Rojava watched DAESH who walked through the open borders of Turkey, with wet blood on their hands, being greated with tea.
On this basis, it was made clear, much before the phsyical proof, that the fight in Rojava was staged. The aim was simple, the Kurdish forces would be defeated, which would benefit the Turkish State, and DAESH would have a strategic foothold. With this position, they would threaten European countries because of their proximity to the continent, in the effort of attaining money. With an excellent cover-up, DAESH walked into rojava killing innocent civillians, and mostly muslim ones too, under the name of the Sharia law; harming few non-muslims as they were deemed to have monetary value.
The international response was huge, many muslims and non-muslims around the world gathered under the name of Muslim brotherhood to feast on the blood of the people of Rojava. In this, we should understand why and how people who lived fairly comfortable lives in Europe arrived to the middleeast with new names, identities and wanting to behead people. This alone demonstrates the deep society crisis of Europe.
The war in Kobanê was not war as we know it. It was broadcasted live on TVs, radios and the internet, thousands of people on the borderline watched the battle take place. The gangs that killed dozens of civilians were obviously taking orders from the enemies of the Kurds. The children they slaughtered, the elders, the civilians were murdered were told that they would be reunited with Allah. And it’s not just killing, kidnapping, raping and selling women.
As the war grew more intense, ambargos set by the Turkish State alone caused the death of many children. Babies fed on soil alone when there was nothing edible left; mothers watched their children starve, their helpless apologies still echoe through these streets.
At this point it becomes important to understand the role of coalition forces. The Kurds opened its doors for a coalition agreement to any state that wished to fight in the name of humanity. As we very commonly hear the heroism of America in defeating DAESH, it is important to understand that these forces only agreed to defend the airspace (in return for some petrol ofcourse). These airstrikes rarely happened during the whole of the war and not a single member of the coalition was injured directly because of it. The 11,000 martyrs, and 20,000 injured friends were completely overlooked by the world press meanwhile the American boys couragously returned home with the strides of a hero.
What these forces had not foreseen was that resistence is culture within the Kurdish Region, and this fight was not about to end untill every last person was killed. As the Kurds have proudly, historically announced, it only takes three people to start an organisation; and their one was not about to be defeated. Infact, this war bridged the differences between the people, and ethnic groups that would not previously mix, stood shoulder-to-shoulder on the front line. Just as Erdogan was joyfully declaring that Kobane would fall any minute, his dreams of creating a Police State came to an end.
The Kobanê resistance was growing more successful day by day, at the expense of paying heavy prices. Every new success served as a blow to all the regional reactionary forces, the sovereign states and the imperialist powers. Every new position gained from DAESH the caused the AKP government to run to TV and threaten that it will take new steps regarding the KURDISH problem.
Now, it becomes difficult to claim that the DAESH problem is resolved, when so many people have been affected by the ideology of it. Nor can we overlook that Turkish Gangs in the region are DAESH members with different masks. With the Turkish States support, it is only a matter of time until a new set of DAESH fighters arrive under a different organisation.
The fact remains that the organisation of DAESH works with cells and becomes hard to detect. The newest tactic they are implementing is individual attacks which is a danger to society. They continue to exist within our prisons or our peoples mindsets.
With that being said, when looking to find a sollution, we must look beyond the surface. Beyond the barbaric face of DAESH and see the fascist face of the Turkish State and the greedy, exploitative faces of the Western Powers. And regardless of the fascıst policies that are now beıng ımplemented ın Afrın, as the greatest resistors of our tıme, the most fearsome warriors, we will not tolerate the shed of a single drop of blood of our people. We are not a country or a region, we are a society.
