Some 100,000 people have been evacuated from low-lying areas after the the Yangtze River rose to dangerous levels following some of the heaviest rainfall in recent memory.
Part of a 1200-year-old Buddha statue on the Yangtze river which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List in China’s Sichuan province, was also flooded.
