In our statement dated February 11 we shared the information that our comrade Mazlum was martyred as a result of the heavy weapon attacks carried out on our resistance positions near the village of Sîda in the Şêladize sub-district of Amediyê, despite the decision taken by our Movement for the legitimate defense forces, to repair the wounds of our peoples in the devastating disaster process. As a result of the attacks carried out by the Turkish army on our positions and tunnels in Sîda, our comrade Mazlum Derşewî was martyred. The martyrdom of our comrade and the uninterrupted attacks of the Turkish army in recent days, how the fascist AKP-MHP regime exploited the humanitarian decision developed by our Movement.
We express our condolences to the esteemed patriotic family of our comrade Mazlum Derşewî, who was martyred in the enemy attack, and to all the people of Botan and Kurdistan. We promise to achieve the goals of our oppressed comrade and to keep his memory alive in a country where the brotherhood of peoples is freely realized.

Just as Cizîra Botan, one of the important resistance centers of Kurdistan and Botan, resisted against all the occupying forces for the survival of Kurdish culture and existence for hundreds of years, our party immediately embraced the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, which developed under the leadership of the PKK, and took its historical role by sending thousands of its bravest sons to the ranks of the resistance. has owned. Our people in Cizîr flocked to the ranks of the resistance, with the emergence of the PKK, which became the name of hope for our people, under the leadership of Leader Apo, at a time when all hopes for the Kurds and Kurdistan were exhausted and there was a dead silence. Cizîra Botan, one of the first centers to rise up against the invading Turkish state with the inspiration of freedom she received from our party, maintained this stance despite all the torture, arrests and massacres of the enemy, and increased the line of resistance day by day. Born in such a center of resistance and to a family affiliated with the patriotic Dershewî tribe, our comrade Mazlum naturally knew our party PKK from his childhood. Our comrade Mazlum, who took his place in the ranks of the struggle during his youth, first participated in youth activities and tried to fulfill his duty as a Kurdish youth by taking part in the serhildans against the enemy. During these works, he was taken into custody once by the enemy, but he still did not back down from his struggle. On the contrary, his anger towards the enemy increased even more and he sought to enlarge his struggle. The participation of his close relatives in the guerrilla ranks and the attack of ISIS mercenaries in Kobanê with the support of the Turkish state and the martyrdom there deeply affected our comrade Mazlum. Thereupon, our comrade Mazlum, who determined his line in the struggle, decided to join the guerrilla ranks. Our comrade, who turned his face to the mountains of Kurdistan in 2014 to join the guerrilla ranks, took the first steps towards a new and free life.
Our comrade Mazlum, who has made it his main goal to hold accountable for the massacres committed against our people in Kobanê, has tried to understand and raise awareness of the training he received with great care and seriousness. Our comrade, who was successful in this, approached life in the same way and became a competent guerrilla by benefiting from the experiences of his comrades. However, he has never limited his own development and has always been in an effort to learn something new. He especially wanted to deepen in military art and guerrilla tactics. He took a great interest in military service in order to respond to the enemy in a language he understood, and he constantly improved himself in this field. Our comrade Mazlum, who offered training in order to fully understand and practice the requirements of the new era guerrilla and to become a professional guerrilla, on this basis, he was trained in the medium automatic weapons branch, which is multifunctional in guerrilla warfare. Our comrade Mazlum, who had the opportunity to develop himself ideologically as well as militarily during this training period, suggested going to the Zap area, where the war was intense, in order to fulfill the requirements of the historical process we are going through. Our comrade, who is aware that this is the only way to respond to the wishes and dreams of our people for freedom, successfully fulfilled his duties by taking part in many actions against the enemy in the Zap area he passed through in 2019. He has been one of our comrades who have faced the attacks launched by the enemy against the Medya Defense Zones since 2021. Although he was very impressed with each of his comrades who reached martyrdom, he intensely participated in practical work to crown the struggle of our martyrs with victory. Our comrade Mazlum, who knows that he can only be worthy of his martyred comrades by further enlarging their struggle, has achieved a self-sacrificing style of participation on this basis.
Our comrade Mazlum, who was martyred in an enemy attack on February 9, 2023, became one of the last representatives of Botan’s ancient resistance culture. He warmed the hearts of his comrades with the warm smile that he never lost on his face, and succeeded in being a source of strength and morale for all his comrades. We, as his comrades, once again repeat our promise that we will continue to struggle and fight until all our martyrs, in the person of our comrade Mazlum, realize the dream of a free Kurdistan.
