The trip to the chairman was a pilgrimage for me
“I would like to give an example: “The hac is obligatory in Islam. Everyone must go on pilgrimage. If they hadn’t said that Muhammad is the last prophet, I think the chairman would have been a prophet. For the role of the President is the role of a prophet. Seeing the Chairman was like a pilgrimage for me. In other words, the Chairman was a pilgrimage for me. Seeing the chairman was worth more to me than bread and water.”

I always hope to see our chairman.
“Rêber APO has been living alone on the island of Imrali for 24 years. Nobody asks why he lives there alone under the most difficult conditions in great isolation. As a society, we have to ask ourselves. We shouldn’t expect anything from anyone. We must free our chairman ourselves. We have faith that we will see our Chairman again.
Our chairman is no ordinary chairman. They are torturing the entire Kurdish society in the person of our leader. Destroying our leader means destroying us, our Kurdism and our country. That is why we, Kurdish society, must join hands and free our leader. Let’s protect our party and our Şehîds. We cannot obtain our rights until we free our chairman.
We are not the old Kurds. We have a say. We made a promise to our Chairman and our Şehîds and we will follow them to the end. We will fight to the last drop of our blood for Rêber APO’s freedom and set him free.”

As long as our chairman is not liberated, the existence of us Kurds has no meaning
“The chairman really gave us the spirit. He also gave birth to us again. But we, 40 million people, could not free our leader. This is a great shame for us. As long as our chairman is not liberated, there is no point in our existence as Kurds. Every Kurdish person must protect the chairman.”

As long as Abdullah Öcalan is behind bars, I don’t feel free either
“In conclusion, I would like to say: in order to understand Öcalan’s message, to understand where we stand and where our enemy stands, we have to take off our European glasses. Abdullah Öcalan is subject to this isolation, so we cannot reach his philosophy and ideas. He showed us the way out of the deep crisis of the capitalist patriarchy. We all see that we are destroying our mother earth. This economic and social system, which only brings destruction, pain and misery – climate catastrophe, wars, epidemics, genocide, feminicide – urgently needs an alternative. Öcalan showed us an alternative with the democratic confederalism that is being implemented in Rojava. We must persuade society to increase the pressure on states to secure the release of the chairman. That’s how Nelson Mandela was released. As long as Abdullah Öcalan is behind bars, I don’t feel free either.”

“When the chairman was arrested, I didn’t leave the house for nine days. Then I called my children, gathered them around me, put the Qur’an in front of them and said: “You will swear that you will never leave the Chairman and the Party.”
