LAVRIO – This Monday morning, dozens of young people left the Lavrio camp, located about 60 km from Athens, to reach the Greek capital next Wednesday (15) demanding the Freedom of Rêber APO (Abdullah Ocalan). The marchers had prepared carefully for this three-day journey, which will be done in stages. They will sleep tonight in the town of Markopoulou, after walking about 20 km.
The slogans “freedom for Ocalan” and “Erdogan dictator” animate the procession, with flags of the collective Riseup4Rojava and Rêber APO. Political stickers are stuck on the walls along the route. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the participants, and support from France, as well as from the militant squat of Athens “Prosfygika”. All of them are convinced of the necessity of this militant step, in order to make known, wherever possible, the situation of the political prisoner and People’s Leader locked up in Imrali jail for decades, Abdullah Öcalan.
