“The attacks of the invading Turkish army against our forces in the Dersim area continue intensively. There was a contact between our forces and the invaders, who continued their attacks during the winter and spring periods, on 23 and 24 December 2022, and this contact later turned into a conflict. Our comrades Şevger Semsûr and Arjin Sarya, Members of the Dersim Provincial Command, who fought bravely in this conflict that lasted for hours, were martyred. In these clashes, our comrade Yaşar, the Dersim State Commander, who managed to come out of the enemy intact by inflicting a heavy blow on the invaders, again entered into a conflict with the enemy on March 1, 2023. Since the first day our party joined the PKK, our comrade Yaşar, who has always taken a march along the line of self-sacrifice, sacrificedly marched to martyrdom in order not to fall alive after fighting with the enemy for a long time.
Dersim Commander Comrade Yaşar Botan, Dersim State Command Member Şevger Semsûr and Arjin Sarya comrades fought the enemy to the end with great courage and became martyrs by displaying an unforgettable example of heroism. From Seyîd Rıza to Besês, from Saras to Beritans, from Çetin Siverek to Atakan Mahirs, from Zins to Flowers, from Yılmaz to Yaşar, the struggle for freedom in Dersim, the place of resistance, will always continue, and the sacred longings of our saintly martyrs will definitely be fulfilled. Our comrade Yaşar Botan opened his eyes to life in the Silopya district of Sirnex. Comrade Yaşar, who was born in a village and family environment belonging to the Zêvkî tribe, witnessed the oppression, torture and cruelty of the genocidal and colonialist Turkish state when he was a child. Enemy pressures increased day by day, their villages were burned to the ground in 1994, and the family became penniless in our own country, Kurdistan, and went to Bashure Kurdistan. However, the collaborative KDP attacked our people who came from Bakur in cooperation with the Turkish state, instead of helping and supporting our oppressed and aggrieved people who migrated and embraced them with national feelings. The attacks of the Turkish state and the betrayal of the KDP against our migrating people did not end until 1998, our patriotic people changed camps many times and finally went to Maxmur, which is almost a desert. But his country, his identity, The valiant people of Botan, who are completely devoted to their language, culture and patriotic values, never bowed down and did not compromise their patriotic stance in the face of the attacks of both the enemy and the collaborating betrayers. Our comrade Yaşar grew up in Maxmur in a new world where every moment is woven with a revolutionary culture of life. He was very excited about this beautiful life and got morale. Even though he is far from his own country, he was educated in his native language and gained a solid social consciousness. His devotion to Leader Apo went beyond sentimentality and reached the power of consciousness. Like every patriotic family in Maxmur, the family of our comrade Yaşar joined the ranks of our party PKK. Zindan Cizre (Abdullah Manak), uncle of our comrade Yaşar, was martyred in 1994 in Zagroslar. The entire Kurdish people reacted strongly to the International Conspiracy process, and dozens of our martyrs, aged between seven and seventy, carried out self-sacrifice actions. Comrade Yaşar, who joined the guerrilla ranks and completed his first military training, joined the organization of the Fedayeen at the beginning of 2000 as a result of his own suggestion and imposition to become a good comrade and revenge fighter of the Leader. The first bodyguard groups, which would later become the Hêzên Taybet Institution, laid the foundation of the organization aimed at professional, organized and permanent self-sacrifice in the guerrilla ranks. Our comrade Yaşar had the honor of being one of the first workers and pioneers of the organization of the Fedayeen, and at the same time received deep ideological, organizational and comprehensive military training here. In 2003, in the process when treacherous and mercenary liquidationism emerged as a trend within our Movement, it took a stand in favor of the Apoist line, never strayed, and took on the task of protecting the comrades under the leadership of our Movement by passing to their safety.
Successfully fulfilling this duty, our comrade Yaşar turned to Bakurê Kurdistan in 2004 on the basis of the historic June 1st Campaign and moved to Dersîm. He fought for five years in Dersîm without breath, and carried out guerrilla activities in every part of Dersîm. Comrade Yaşar moved to Medya Defense Zones in 2009. He focused on Bakur practice for a year at Hêzên Taybet Headquarters, and later became involved in the ideological and military training process at the Haki Karer Academy in the winter of 2010-2011. In order to correctly evaluate the practical processes he went through, he participated strongly in the academy environment and produced very effective results. After the academy, he joined the friend who is in the management of our Movement as the security officer and successfully carried out this sensitive and critical task for three years. Besides the management of the organization, He expressed this 3-year period, in which he closely followed the working style of the organization and produced great results, as the most important turning point in his revolutionary life, each moment full of great lessons. In 2013, he assumed the responsibility of new fighter training coordination to train many international young revolutionaries, especially Kurdish youth, who flocked to the PKK ranks. During this two-year period, he trained many of his comrades, prepared them for the revolutionary struggle, conveyed his vast experience and successfully fulfilled this historical task. In 2016, our Party received training in the PKK Furnace, and stated that the concentrations it experienced in the Party Furnace were incomparably more profound than any other period. deepened along the party line, He understood the period policies and current duties of our party and acted with the awareness of his responsibility as a self-sacrificing PKK member. On this basis, one of our valiant commanders, Yılmaz Dersîm, suggested to go to Dersîm with Comrade, and this proposal of both of them was accepted.
He stood shoulder to shoulder with a great commander like Yılmaz Dersîm, with whom he had stayed in Dersîm for years, and made his way to Dersîm in 2016. As he reached Dersîm, he took responsibility at the level of the state command, and because he knew the Dersim area well, he started practice without any difficulty. In order to respond to the special and intense orientations and numerous attacks of the enemy towards the Dersim area, he sought to make a tactical exit with great sacrifice. He both organized the actions that struck a blow against the enemy and spent a lot of effort to practice the new period guerrillaism in Dersim. Our comrade Yaşar has been a source of strength for his comrades as a humble, enthusiastic, never-ending and morale commander. Since the PKK is based on living according to the standards of sacrifice, it has not compromised under any circumstances, He represented Apoist militancy competently. As a provincial commander, he did not distinguish any task, big or small, and made a great sacrifice in the conditions of Bakur, which was difficult and had very few opportunities. The exemplary participation of our comrade Yaşar as a commander set an example for his comrades and gave them strength.
Our comrade Yaşar came into contact with the enemy and fought heroically during an enemy operation that took place on March 1, 2023 in Dersim. Our comrade Şevger was born and raised in an Alevi family, although he was originally from the Hesenko village of Semsûr’s Kömür town, who for some reasons were immigrated to the Trintil village of the Center. The family of our comrade Şevger got their share of the assimilation policies that the genocidal Turkish state wanted to apply to the Alevi people, and they were forced to leave their own lands and migrate to a different village. Despite all this, growing up in a family that managed to preserve the Kurdish-Alevi culture created a stubborn personality in our comrade Şevger at an early age, and was loved by the family for his hard work. At the same time, meeting the concept of labor at a very early age has improved taking responsibility in the personality of our comrade Şevger and seeing himself as responsible in life. Our comrade Şevger, who is a hardworking and intelligent Alevi youth, has succeeded in being a successful student despite the impossibilities. Although he had to stay away from his family, like many Kurdish youth, in dormitories created to assimilate Kurdish youth, he did not break away from his essence thanks to his stubborn personality, which he acquired from his childhood. He trained himself more and more every day on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War Strategy and organized his comrades along this line. Our comrade Arjin was born in Antalya as a member of a patriotic family originally from Sirnex. Our comrade Arjin was born and raised far from our country, Kurdistan, due to her family’s immigrating to Turkish metropolises due to enemy pressures. Our comrade Arjin has known the PKK from a very young age, due to the fact that she has joined the guerrilla ranks from her close circle and has relatives in the enemy dungeons. Although her country is far from Kurdistan, her heart has always been with the guerrilla fighting for the freedom of our people in Kurdistan, because her family and relatives are patriotic and revolutionary. The environment in which she lives is generally of a fascist character, The enemy’s attack on our people, who are fighting for freedom, wherever they are, and his insistence on continuing the policy of genocide, caused our comrade Arjin to recognize the enemy reality. Aware that as a young Kurdish woman, she is also responsible for the freedom of our people, our comrade has sought a struggle. Our comrade, who thinks that the most effective field of struggle against the enemy’s genocidal policy is guerrillaism in the mountains of Kurdistan, returned to our country Kurdistan in 2014 and joined the guerrilla ranks from Amed.
Our comrade moved from the Amed area to the Dersîm area, received her first guerrilla training there. Joining the guerrilla ranks from Bakur Kurdistan, where our guerrilla war was most effectively conducted, and received guerrilla training under war conditions. Comrade Arjîn developed herself militarily and ideologically in a short time, and became a competent guerrilla. Our comrade carried out guerrilla activities in many areas of Dersîm, believed in the restructuring project of the guerrilla wholeheartedly and fulfilled its requirements. In this respect, as a YJA Star guerrilla, she set an example for all her comrades. Our Dersîm field commander, Yılmaz Dersîm, was very impressed by the martyrdom of our comrades Jîndar Ezgi and Çiçek Botan. She tried to protect the memories of these comrades on the right basis by making deep concentrations on the causes of the martyrdoms. On this basis, she focused all her concentration on the actions to be taken against the enemy, and struggled with great devotion and self-sacrifice to develop action against the enemy. By participating in many actions in the Dersim area, she fulfilled her comradely duties towards our martyred comrades. It has constantly fed its militant stance and success in the military field with ideological accumulation. She saw the PKK-PAJK’s free women’s line in her personality and being an unyielding defender of this line as a necessity of being worthy of her martyred comrades. For this, she has made a great effort to protect the free women’s line in every field she is in and to make women’s leadership effective in every moment of life. She has always shared with her comrades that preserving the line of women’s freedom and making it the basis of her life is the most effective way to feel and live our Leadership. She has never forgotten the fact that success in the military field is possible with a life lived with ideological competence and on the right basis, and she has put this thought into practice with her stance in life.
Our comrade Arjin is as an example by all his comrades with her stance in life, sincere, honest and laboring personality, she died as a pioneer YJA Star militant, fighting to her last breath, in the operations carried out by the enemy on 24 December 2022.
