NEWS CENTER – I find it strange that only March 8 is the International Women’s Day. It is an indispensable condition of life that all days have women and free women. But even the fact of March 8 shows very clearly that there are no women in life. The fact that it is approached as if it is worth commemorating only on such a day shows the depth of slavery. Why is one day women’s day, why is an indispensable element of life worth commemorating on one day, and why is it given as a gift on a day like Mother’s Day, these are, in my opinion, expressions of insincerity and this must be overcome. It is necessary to develop all days like March 8th. As far as Kurdistan is concerned, we don’t have much to say about this day. We are continuing the women’s revolution in a great effort and every day goes beyond the classical commemoration of March 8. There are martyrs who need to be commemorated every day. It is an obligation for me to fulfill the duties imposed on us by the female lineage, both those who blew themselves up with bombs and thus became the owners of the most serious acts of freedom that the human race can achieve, and those who wanted to cleanse themselves by burning themselves in this way, in the person of these martyrs.
As in all revolutions, the most fundamental issue that today’s revolutions and especially the Kurdistan Revolution must accomplish is the work of solving the life around women. From the most advanced problems of war to peace and its development on a free basis, unless the woman is dealt with the reality of mentality, ideology, organization, oppression and exploitation woven around her, unless we deepen the solution on this basis, unless we consider the revolution and therefore the war as detached from the woman, neither the war can be a complete war of freedom, nor the peace that can develop afterwards can be a real peace. A fundamental and very deep-rooted condition for this is what does the network of relations around women, from the family to morality, even philosophy and religious life, all say about this issue? Beyond that, what have they done, what do they plan to do? What kind of order has been established? Analyzing all this is vital.
I would like to point out that the more I concentrate on the Kurdistan Revolution, the more interested I become in the problem and the more I seek a solution to it. Today, life with women, almost as it is today, or life with men under the current status quo, is a way of life that I still find the most difficult to accept. When I ask the question of what life should be like in general, the question of what life with women should be like is a question that I still need to focus on. I must point out that this question is open and does not take refuge in any traditional prejudice or moral value, and I believe that there are problems ranging from sexual approaches to sharing life with women in all areas, from politics and even army activities. I attach importance to the need to discuss these openly. I consider it one of the most fundamental tasks that socialism must do.
The class struggle alone is not enough, and this has been proven in real socialism. I am of the opinion that just as a radical solution is needed with a socialist revolution to the environmental problems that have reached gigantic proportions today, just as a radical solution is needed with a socialist revolution to capitalist imperialism’s destruction of nature and making it uninhabitable, I am of the opinion that new approaches are needed in every dimension, from ideological to practical unions to the re-questioning of even marriage, far beyond the traditional level approaches to this problem, which concerns all areas of life in the dimension of women. The women’s issue will be questioned not only in the dimensions of gender and marriage, but in all areas of society in a “how it should be” way. And as the answers develop, it will be seen that essentially war and peace is a women’s issue. Unless women’s will and women’s personality enter the agenda, it will be understood that solutions based solely on male-dominated understandings cannot solve neither war nor peace on their own. Therefore, we need to deepen the women’s revolution in order to make the revolutions of the coming period, even the revolution of the 21st century, healthy for both the wars and the peace processes that will follow them. It is impressive for me that I have been aware of a deep danger since I have known myself, from settling scores with my mother to settling scores with girls like you. The opposite sexes are not without each other, but we even have such a situation in general that this relationship does not pay much. When this relationship is not resolved correctly, it threatens almost all of life. I have always been concerned about this and this concern has led me to such an intense power of analysis. In the beginning I was intuitively saying that there is a disease in these relationships. These relationships should not be like this. I didn’t want to solve my own sexual satisfactions by relying on power, it seemed a bit immoral to me, and as I began to see in myself the danger of relying on power devoid of voluntariness, devoid of free will, I took great care not to lose myself. The question of what kind of a woman a man should be is as burning for me as the question of what kind of a woman a man should be. Life is based on the union of the two sexes, but what kind of union. When we look at our social reality, this union is a miserable union, a union that has lost its power, a union that has brought a fifteen year old girl into a family like a beehive, and the man has come to the freakish situation of seeing his entire sense of honor and masculinity in his dominance over a woman. At this age, and at the earliest ages, our man no longer has a homeland to think about other than his wife and therefore his children, nor does he have a quest for a good life.
On the contrary, they do backflips at the door of the colonizer just to feed themselves, and even today, all village guards and even the most worthy traitors of our society on the basis of collaborationism are essentially in this situation because their understanding of life, their understanding of family is a consequence of their understanding of life, and I see this very well. A free life, not a life of any kind, is essential for me and this is where I see the honor of honor. The class struggle alone is not enough and this has been proved in real socialism.
