AACHEN – Last night from Friday March 17th to Saturday March 18th, posters from Rêber APO were distributed in the vicinity of Aachen University. In addition, a quote was sprayed directly in front of the university’s main auditorium. The quote was sprayed in English to reach the entire student body.
Under the leadership of JXK NRW, with the support of YKX Aachen, the action was carried out to draw attention to the situation of Rêber APO, since March 18th is the international day of action of political prisoners.
On February 15, 1999, Rêber APO (Abdullah Öcalan) was kidnapped by an international conspiracy as part of a full-scale NATO operation and imprisoned in the maximum security prison on Imrali Island in Turkey. Since then he has been exposed to the machinations of the Turkish rulers and international politics, he has been denied his rights as a political prisoner and is not allowed to see his lawyers or members of his family. He finds himself in a situation in which the isolation imposed on him is constantly being reinforced. That culminated on March 25, 2021.
Since then, the public has had no information about the state and situation of Rêber APO.
