BEHDINAN – ANF documented the moments when the KDP came to the aid of the invading Turkish state with images. While the historical resistance of the HPG and YJA Star guerrillas against the attacks launched by the Turkish army on Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn within the borders of Bashure Kurdistan on April 14, 2022, the KDP’s cooperation with the invaders was once again documented with images.
The KDP forces, which previously cut the logistics going to the HPG and YJA Star guerrillas, besieged them in some places, prevented them from moving and set up ambushes, and made way for the armored vehicles of the Turkish soldiers, this time came to the aid of the invading army in Girê Hekarî (Hakkari Hill).
THE ONLY POINT IN THE REGION WHERE THE INVASIONS ARE LOCATED
KDP’s work on this region to be a life jacket for the invading army began last July and intensified as of August. First, KDP forces started to build roads, headquarters and shelters in the Hill Ortê area of Metîna, accompanied by armored vehicles. In August, he made a road for the Turkish army with buckets between the Girê Hekarî and Girê Amediyê Resistance Areas.
All the services the KDP did for the Turkish army could not prevent the resistance of the guerrilla forces. HPG and YJA Star guerrillas, which carried out many “Revolutionary Operations” that shocked the invaders in the autumn, on 26-27 November 2022 in Girê Hekarî, so to speak, uprooted the Turkish army and made them unable to hold on here.
FLAGS WERE HOLD TO PROTECT INVASIONS FROM GUERILLAS
KDP forces, who came to the rescue of the invading army stuck in Girê Hekarî, established military bases around the hill where the invading army tried to take on but failed. In order to prevent the guerrilla forces from attacking Girê Hekarî again, the flag of the Federal Kurdistan Region Administration was hoisted on the bases established on three different hills.
Likewise, we documented the fact that the flag of the Federated Kurdistan Region Administration was hoisted on the military base on the Girê Sêdarê hill, which is the only point to Girê Hekarî to protect the invading army in the face of the new actions of the guerrilla. However, we could not find any clear information about exactly which forces were at this base.
HE MADE A ROAD FROM BORDER TO HILL FOR TANKS
KDP positions are similarly located in the same mountain range going in the direction of Amediye. In this area, where fierce clashes took place before, the positions belonging to the Turkish army continue to exist under the flag of the Federal Kurdistan Region Administration. It was noteworthy that such a change was made right after the invading army pulled its forces from this point, called the “Commando Field”, last December.
Girê Hekarî, which has a strategic importance both because it is about 15 kilometers away from the Turkey-Iraq border and because it is the highest point of Amediyê, was connected to the border line by a new land route built by the KDP. The invading Turkish army can transport tanks, armored vehicles and military supplies to Girê Hekarî through this road.
Currently, only the forces of the invading army are on Girê Hekarî hill in the Metîna area, east of the Zap water. Because, in the face of the resistance of the guerrilla, the invading forces had to withdraw, unable to hold on to the other hills around this hill. The reason why the KDP is furiously constructing roads and building bases around Girê Hekarî is to ensure that the last stronghold of the Turkish army in the region does not fall.
