BEHDÎNAN – Coordination of PAJK (Free Women’s Party of Kurdistan) has issued a written statement regarding the publication of the martyrdom of PKK guerrilla Şehîd Raperîn Amed, stating: “Our struggle for freedom has entered history with great cost and heroism received.Revolutionary-militant women who have come out with the aspiration to change and liberate the system, society and life, marching to martyrdom without batting an eyelid for the good of society and the future and made it clear that this militancy is the voice of the free man who marked the epoch.”
The statement continued as follows: “Comrade Raperîn is one of the exemplary Apoci fighters of the Kurdish freedom struggle since 1992. She drew the depth of her Welatparêzen and Kurdish consciousness from the country where she lived and from her family tradition. She was a comrade who was connected to her roots, with a strong sense of history and a deep love of society. From Amed, where she began her guerrilla career, to her move to the Chairman’s territory in 1996, she has successfully fought with her militancy in the most difficult trials. Her ideological and organizational awareness deepened even more with her transition into the Chair’s territory. Rêber APO paid special attention to comrade Raperîn, to develop her leadership skills and strengths and prepare her as one of the leading cadres of this movement. Comrade Raperîn always lived on the basis of her promise to the Chairman and always played a pioneering role in her later life and struggle. She never compromised on her duties and responsibilities. She embodied the essence of Apoci identity with her depth in party culture and understanding, great sense of service, humble and working personality. Heval Raperîn had a free spirit. She was a comrade who achieved success in every field she appeared in, rallying people around her, providing guidance and spurring the struggle. In that sense, she has always been a source of support, of trust and hope for their comrades. She has never made concessions to views and approaches that did not conform to the Chair’s line. She was always perceptive, always ideological, consistent and principled in her struggle.
Comrade Raperîn was one of the pioneering, assertive, strong and dedicated fighters of our women’s movement. She was a comrade who fought for women’s freedom and made great efforts to develop the women’s struggle. Always angry at the lack of will, weakness and lack of solutions, she fought with all her strength for the development of women’s will. With this attitude, she took on the responsibilities and tasks of our general struggle and women’s work and represented women in the strongest possible way. As a member of the Presidium of KONGRA GEL, she pioneered the development of the democratic confederal system for many years. She is one of our comrades which has contributed most to the freedom of society and the building of a democratic system. Until her martyrdom she was at the forefront of her work based on fulfilling the demands of this duty. In 2022, she became a Şehîd under the attacks of the anti-Kurdish, misogynistic Turkish fascist regime. Our movement has taken a humanitarian and moral decision and stopped taking action at such a painful time when our societies have experienced a major earthquake disaster. However, the genocidal Turkish state continues its attacks in all areas and continues to use chemical weapons. He causes massacres wherever Kurdish society lives and fights. He continues his attacks on the areas of Başûr, Shengal and Rojava, although they are suffering from great destruction, and wants to turn our movement’s decision to remain inactive into an opportunity.
The fascist Turkish state continues its attacks on the pioneers of our women’s liberation struggle and tries to suppress the women’s liberation struggle with brutal and terrible methods. While the Turkish state must be brought to justice and condemned for these attacks, the international powers support and pave the way for the Turkish state to liquidate our party line and destroy the revolutionary pioneer women. This is to prevent this era from becoming the era of women’s freedom and the victory of the women-led revolution. However, it should be clear that the women will not withdraw from the fight. Freedom will be created with the women’s revolution against the ruling civilization. As PAJK we will continue to fight against the capitalist system, male-dominated power and male oppression, especially the fascist AKP-MHP government. We will avenge comrade Raperîn and all our fallen comrades.
This struggle will continue until women are free, until male supremacy and all its fascist structures are destroyed. The victory will be ours. We call on all women and our society to step up the struggle for free life on the path of Şehîds, hold fascism to account and step up women’s freedom struggle on the path to victory.”
