NEWS CENTER – Peyman Viyan, a member of the Rojhilat Free Women’s Association (KJAR), spoke to the ANF news agency on March 8, International Working Women’s Day.
At the beginning of her speech, Peyman Viyan congratulated all women on March 8th and said:“We salute the work that has been developed with great struggle and creativity around the world for March 8th. The women sent the message that no matter what, we will not submit to power and the mentality dominated by men. With the steps they have taken in their struggle, they have shown once again how tenacious they are for freedom. We welcome the events organized by the Mothers of Peace and the Mothers of Laleh Park in Rohilat Kurdistan and Iran. Likewise, on the occasion of March 8, women’s committees were founded in Kurdistan, Tehran and various cities. We also recognize these committees. This shows that women are now constantly involved in the process of organization and solidarity. The women have now realized that they get closer to success the more they organize themselves. We believe that these committees will be organized systematically and will bring the philosophy of “Jin Jiyan Azadî” to every individual in society. These committees are designed to help organize women in all fields.”
WOMEN TURN EVERY PLACE INTO A FIELD OF FIGHTING
Regarding the earthquake disaster in Bakur and Rojava, Peyman Viyan said:“After the earthquake catastrophe in Bakur and Rojava, the women showed great solidarity for the earthquake victims. Women have made March 8th a day to hug each other and live a free life. We salute the women and their actions once again. In Rojhilat and Iran, women have turned every place into a field of struggle. No matter what the cost, the women have never left the seats empty. That is why they insisted on struggle and freedom. This year’s March 8 in Rojhilat and Iran was different from any previous 8. With the “Jin Jiyan Azadi” revolution, women drew men to the battlefields. The Jin Jiyan Azadi revolution was the biggest blow to the Iranian state.
The Iranian state is doing everything it can to suppress this revolution. One of the measures taken by the state is the poisoning of female students. These uprisings have shown once again how much the Iranian state fears women. Young women in particular are being targeted so they are not confronted with what they fear. This revolution, led by women and youth, is still ongoing. Where there are women and youth, the potential for freedom is absolutely strong. For they never submit to power. During the revolution, the biggest uprisings took place in schools and universities. At school, young women in particular took a very radical and violent stance against the mentality of the Iranian state.
These reactions from the students have undone the policies that the Iranian state has been pursuing in schools and universities for years. They want to take revenge for the “Jin Jiyan Azadi” revolution by poisoning female students. The dictatorial state will be held accountable for these acts. They carry out such attacks to scare young people and their families. With this policy of killing, torturing and executing, the state has been trying to break the will of society for 44 years. Women, youth, teachers and students’ families must hold the state to account in the squares. Here, too, the human rights organizations must exercise serious pressure. The Iranian state should know
EVERY WOMAN MUST PRACTICE SELF DEFENSE AGAINST ATTACKS
KJAR member Peyman Viyan stressed that every woman must develop her self-defense against the attacks of the state and concluded her speech with the following words: “Every committee should be a defense committee. This is true physically, mentally and emotionally. We will continue to strengthen our women’s defense system. We must practice self-defense in all areas of life. We are ready to take even more important steps towards this this year. We will expand our work with our strength and experience to further spread the system of women’s confederalism.
This is how we as women will achieve freedom. We will make 2023 the year of victory and freedom in Rojhilat Kurdistan and Iran. We believe that Newrozfest 2023 will be greeted and led with such vigor and enthusiasm by all women and our freedom-loving society. I applaud the women whose hearts beat for freedom and our whole society standing up against the oppressive system of the Iranian state. We will definitely make this year a year of success for the women.”
