BASEL – In Basel, Switzerland, members of Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN) organized a protest action as part of the “Werin Cenga Azadiyê” offensive to demand the physical freedom of Rêber APO and against the to protest the policies of the fascist AKP-MHP regime. Since this regime is responsible for the fact that tens of thousands of people lost their lives in the earthquake in Kurdistan through failure to provide assistance, the young people took to the streets.
The Kurdish youth are protesting that there has been no news from Rêber APO for almost 2 years. The young people also sharply criticized the policy of the Turkish state, which deliberately allowed the Kurdish population to die during the earthquake and even tried to profit from the earthquake. The youths also condemned the occupation and genocidal attacks by the occupying Turkish state.
The protest action took place at Basel’s main train station and began after a minute’s silence in honor of all the martyrs of the revolution. The young people carried a banner saying “Freedom for Rêber APO” and read a statement in German.
The opinion emphasized that;
“We do not expect any help from the state. We saw that instead of helping our people, this state deliberately left our families and friends to die. Even in this catastrophe, this state is trying to assert its own interests in power. Our population sees through this state and its mentality very well. With Rêber APO’s democratic-ecological and women-liberating paradigm, our population tries to provide help everywhere, full of responsibility, work and a spirit of solidarity, without waiting for the state!”
The protest action called for solidarity with the earthquake victims, everyone present was asked to provide their help through Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê.
The young people ended their protest action with the call to intensify the fight for Rêber APO’s physical freedom, since his freedom also means the freedom of all women, all of Kurdistan and humanity.”
