HESEKÊ – Tens of thousands of people from Cizre, Reqa, Fırat, Manbij, Shehba and Deir ez-Zor regions came to Hesekê to attend the funeral of the 9 YAT fighters who were martyred in the helicopter crash. For the ceremony held at Serdem Stadium in Hesekê, tens of thousands of people from Cizre, Reqa, Fırat, Manbic, Deir ez-Zor and Shehba regions made their way to Hesekê from the early hours of the morning. While most of the crowd here went to Serdem Stadium, the rest went to Martyr Sarya Hospital to collect the bodies.
The bodies of 9 martyrs were carried on the shoulders to the stadium, about a kilometer away. SDF commanders Mazlum Abdi and Newroz Ehmed, Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration co-chairs Bêrîvan Xalid and Ebid Hamid El-Mihbaş, PUK Anti-Terrorism Forces Commander Wehab Helepçi, and Co-Chair of the Syrian Democratic Council Emine Umer will also attend the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the bodies of the martyrs will be taken to Qamîşlo, Derik, Kobanê and Shehba to be buried.
After the bodies taken from the hospital were brought in front of Serdem Stadium with convoys, they were carried to the field on the shoulders.
‘GAINS OBTAINED THANKS TO THE MARTYRS SHOULD BE PROTECTED’
Autonomous Administration co-chairs, MSD, Martyrs’ Families Assembly and DİK representatives, who attended the ceremony held for the YAT fighters, promised to enlarge the struggle.
After the speech of SDF General Commander Mazlum Ebdi, Autonomous Administration Executive Council Co-chair Ebid Hamid El Mihbaş, MSD Co-Chair Emine Omer, Cizre Region Martyrs’ Families Council Co-chair Selma Xelîl and Democratic Islam Congress representative Mela Ebdurheman Bedirxan took the floor.
In the speeches, the struggle of the martyrs in all attacks against the region, especially ISIS gangs, was pointed out, and the importance of preserving the gains achieved thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs was emphasized. On the other hand, the participants, pointing out the role played by the martyrs in liberating Northern and Eastern Syria, renewed their promise to liberate the occupied lands.
In the speeches, which also emphasized the massacre of 4 Kurds who wanted to celebrate Newroz in Afrin’s Cindirêsê district, the international community and all forces in Syria were called to end the Turkish occupation in Afrin.

The bodies of 9 fighters were sent off to their lands with the slogans “Martyr namirin”, “Bijî Berxwedana YPG yê”, “Bi can bi xwîn em bi te re ne ey martyr” shouted by tens of thousands.
Burial of Şervan Kobanê (Ebdo Ehmed Ebdi) in Kobanê, Feraşîn Baran (Nejbîr Mehmûd Hemdo), Dîdar Dêrik (Hemdiya Seydo Seydo), Hogir Dêrik (Elaa Ednan Hemûd), Dogan Afrin (Hadî Hemdûşrik Zahir, Diwêş Ebdî) Oear) and Harun Rojava (Mecîd Silêman Mihemed) will be buried in Dêrik, Rojeng Rifet (Berfîn Bîlal Rifet) will be buried in Shehba, and Xebat Dirbêsiyê (Rênad Îzedîn Eli) will be buried in Dirbêsiyê.
