ATA: TURKISH STATE COMMITS WAR CRIME
Xosnav Ata, who has been protesting in front of the OPCW for months he also met with Anita Streule at Amnesty International’s Bern office in Switzerland. During the meeting in February, Xosnav Ata was accompanied by CDK-S foreign relations committee member Asmin Engin and former KESK chairman Lami Özgen. Amnesty International official Anita Streule stated that the Turkish state should investigate the use of chemical weapons.
Ata said: “Two of my niece’s were martyred by the chemical weapon used by the Turkish state. The Turkish state has been committing inhumane crimes for 50 years regarding war crimes and human rights. I think that human rights organizations should play their role in this regard. Unfortunately, these institutions have not fulfilled their duties and responsibilities until today.”
STREULE: WE FOLLOW THE CHEMICAL CLAIMS SOON
Demanding a joint work with Amnesty International to prevent the use of chemical weapons, the delegation presented a file containing documents and findings on the use of chemical weapons. During the meeting, Amnesty International official Anita Streule stated that they would follow the demands of the delegation and that the received file would be sent to their headquarters. Streule said, “We are closely following the news of the use of chemical weapons. We will forward the file you gave us to the necessary places and we will follow up.”
