“The year 2018, which was shaped by great sacrifice, unmatched effort and unwavering Apoist will, has been the most difficult year of our struggle. Dozens of our comrades, who lived the Apoist militancy in its purest form in this year, when the enemy aimed for absolute liquidation, resisted and reached martyrdom with a superhuman effort in order to respond to the attacks of the enemy and to keep the hope of freedom of our people alive in their struggle. Our comrades Cigerxwîn, Çarçel, Dilgeş, Şervan and Brûsk also wanted to be an answer to our people’s hope for freedom by insisting on Apoist militancy until their last breath in our holy march for freedom and reached martyrdom.
We extend our condolences to all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the esteemed families of our self-defeating comrades Cigerxwîn, Çarçel, Dilgeş, Şervan and Brûsk.

CÎGERXWÎN ŞAHO
Our comrade Cîgerxwîn was born in a patriotic family in Merîvan, the serhildan city of Rojhilatê Kurdistan. Our comrade Cîgerxwîn grew up in a way that adheres to his core values, as his family is a family devoted to Kurdish values and culture. Therefore, at a young age, he lived the language and culture that created him; Angered by the colonial powers’ attacks on Kurdish language and culture. Our comrade, who started to experience contradictions from an early age due to these attacks of the colonial powers, started to understand the reality of the people better and to solve the reality of the enemy who wants to put our people through genocide. His stance in life began to become clearer as he understood what was happening around him and got an idea about them. Despite all the intense attacks of the enemy, our comrade Cîgerxwîn, like every honorable Kurdish youth, believed that our people should join the struggle for freedom. He saw this as a duty to be fulfilled, as a requirement of responsibility towards our people. For this reason, he has been in search of struggle since his youth. Believing that our people’s demands for freedom can best be answered within the ranks of the PKK, our comrade turned to the mountains of Kurdistan in 2011 and joined the guerrilla ranks on this basis.
Our comrade, who started a new life with the guerrilla and Party trainings he received in the mountains of Kurdistan, where he took his step as a patriotic and revolutionary youth, has succeeded in adapting to the guerrilla life, which is sacred for all our people, from the very first day. Our comrade, who succeeded in overcoming the difficulties in front of him with his dedication to his purpose and strong personality, started to become competent in a short time. Despite his young age, he successfully fulfilled all the duties assigned to him with his mature personality, which caused him to gain the respect of his comrades. Our comrade, who develops himself in the military and ideological field day by day, has participated in many different fields in order to become a complete revolutionary. Taking part in many military, political and social work, he has experienced the deep concentration of being a true popular vanguard. However, when the attacks of the invading forces, especially the genocidal Turkish state, against our people and our Movement began to intensify, our comrade Cîgerxwîn turned to the hot battlefields without hesitation. Our comrade, who managed to analyze the needs of the period very well, was able to position himself according to these needs. Our comrade, who is aware of the importance of military competence and professionalization in the tough war we are waging with the invading Turkish state, wanted to improve himself for this purpose. Our comrade, who completely adapted himself to training in order to use the knowledge and experience he will gain through military branch training, in the most effective way against the enemy, with this feature, set an example for his comrades with him and contributed to them becoming professional militants. Our comrade Cîgerxwîn, who managed to become a national personality by aiming to respond to the demand for freedom of all Kurdistan people, has become an exemplary militant by being a perspective of struggle for all Kurdish youth. Our comrade Cîgerxwîn, who managed to leave a mark on every comrade he fought with with his mature, humble, sincere and honest personality, will continue to lead us, our comrades in struggle, with his martyrdom.
ÇARÇEL ŞEMZÎNAN
Our start in Dihê and Şemzînan, where the Great 15 August Breakthrough was implemented, shocked the invaders as well as created a great morale and enthusiasm among our local people. With this glorious move, which is the name of the resurrection, our people of Şemzînan joined our movement, and with their hundreds of participations, they gave an honorable response against occupation and slavery. Our comrade Çarçel was born in a patriotic family in such a region that has a place in our history. He grew up with a patriotic consciousness and culture. The fact that our language, culture and history is banned and in the grip of all kinds of genocide has left deep traces on our comrade Çarçel as well as on many Kurdish children. He witnessed the oppression, exploitation and massacres of the invaders on our people who insist on an honorable life. Likewise, witnessing the epic struggle of Leader Apo and the guerrilla most closely caused him to learn the ways and methods of struggle. He realized that it is not possible to preserve his existence without being organized. When he reached the age when he had to make a choice, he rejected the submissive and treacherous line and started his youth work. With the works, his sympathy for our Movement started to become conscious. It has made us aware that in a process where our existence as a people is in danger, studying from the schools of the occupiers means only serving their policies. For this reason, he chose to fight by leaving the university he went to. Our comrade Çarçel, who is full of hatred and anger against the invaders, has learned that it is impossible to fight within the system and that he eventually gets away from the struggle by becoming like them. During the years of 2011-2012, when our Revolutionary People’s War was intense, our Leader’s struggle in Imrali gained great morale and strength from the revolutionary moves of the guerrilla and the strikes carried out in the dungeons. Again, the Paris massacre, which was deeply affected and angered by everyone, was instrumental in our comrade Çarçel making a revolutionary breakthrough, and in the person of our leading commander, Comrade Sara (Sakine Cansız), she joined the guerrilla ranks from Amed in 2013 to avenge the martyrs from the invaders.
Our comrade Çarçel, who was no stranger to our movement and the guerrilla, adapted to the mountain early. Due to the ceasefire process in effect in 2013, it moved to Medya Defense Areas with withdrawal groups. Our comrade Çarçel, who knows that he needs to be prepared for the difficult processes that may develop in the future, has been involved in the training activities. He worked hard to become an ideological and professional guerrilla. He impressed his comrades with his mature, self-confident, well-knowing stance in life. He instilled confidence around him with his willingness, determination and belief in success. He made great efforts to be a good fighter and militant of Leader Apo and to develop and understand himself in his ideology. He realized the unity of idea-dhikr-action by realizing what he understood. Our comrade Çarçel, who had a conscious participation, went to military academies to become an expert guerrilla. In many actions he participated in, he aimed to avenge our martyrs with every bullet he fired at the invaders. Our comrade Çarçel, who was the owner of a successful march, was thirsty for freedom throughout his struggle and participated in every effort as if he was late. The martyrdom of our comrade Çarçel, who has a stance and practice of self-defense, has become a reason for more struggle for us, our comrades of struggle. We reiterate our promise that, in the person of our comrade Çarçel, we will display a practice and stance worthy of all our martyrs and realize their goals.
DILGEŞ SERHED
Our comrade Dilgeş was born and raised in a patriotic family in Qers. Our party recognized the PKK early due to the patriotic nature of its family and circle. Our comrade Dilgeş, like many Kurdish youth, witnessed the genocidal policies of the fascist and colonialist Turkish state against the Kurdish people and felt great anger. Our comrade Dilgeş, who closely witnessed the assimilation policies that focused on our people, especially the Kurdish youth, stated that living in the system could only be possible by denying their Kurdishness, and that he would never accept this. Our comrade Dilgeş, who sought to fight against the fascist Turkish state’s policy of denial and destruction, realized that it was necessary to resist these policies systematically carried out by the Turkish state. In this process, our comrade Dilgeş, who became aware of the fact that the biggest struggle against all these policies and genocidal practices of the Turkish state was given by our party, the PKK, decided to join. Our comrade Dilgeş wanted to join our freedom struggle twice in this process, but for various reasons, this request was not realized. Our comrade Dilgeş, who did not compromise on this decision and displayed a clear stance, joined the guerrilla ranks in 2014, which he wanted so much.
After joining the guerrilla ranks, our comrade Dilgeş expressed his feelings with the words “PKK is a rebirth for me”. Our comrade Dilgeş made early progress with her curiosity and desire to learn from the first moment she joined. Our comrade’s mature stance, willingness to learn, and modest nature were admired and respected by his comrades. Our comrade Dilgeş stated that the comradeship phenomenon that the PKK was most affected by cannot be explained with words, and that this comradeship must be lived in order to be understood. Our comrade Dilgeş started his first practice in the field of Avaşîn after successfully completing his new warrior training. Comrade Dilgeş, who quickly adapted to the difficult Avaşîn practice with her labor participation and deep love for her comrades, managed to win the love and respect of her comrades with her sincere approach and mature stance. Our comrade Dilgeş, who cooked in the military sense and gained great experience in his practice, played a role in many actions in the Avaşîn area where effective blows were struck against the invaders. Realizing that escalating the war and marching to victory depends on the professionalization of the guerrilla, Comrade Dilgeş developed deep concentrations on how a professional guerrilla should be. Our comrade Dilgeş, who knows that an effective war cannot be achieved only with military development, has made a great effort to improve himself ideologically as well. He developed concentrations to better understand and vitalize Leader Apo’s ideology. He shared his military experiences and ideological concentrations with his comrades, and he always argued in order to learn more while teaching his comrades. Our comrade Dilgeş, who worked in many parts of the Avaşîn area from the first day he joined until the moment he was martyred, has sought to make life more beautiful by instilling morale and strength in his comrades in all areas he went to. Our comrade Dilgeş, who is devoted to his comrades with his endless love, saw that there is no difficulty that cannot be overcome with the love of comradeship, and he did not compromise on this attitude throughout his revolutionary life. Our comrade Dilgeş has left a great legacy of resistance to us comrades with his working personality and unwavering determination. We promise that we will enlarge the legacy of resistance left to us by all our martyrs, especially our comrade Dilgeş, and crown their dreams with victory.
ŞERVAN KOÇER
Our comrade Şervan was born in Êlih as a member of a patriotic and coach family from the Şemsiki branch of the deep-rooted Didêri tribe. When our Movement settled in the region, the Şemsikis met our struggle, and were influenced by Leader Apo and the struggle of the guerrillas with one word and soul, and they were deeply attached to our Movement. He embraced our struggle and added his most precious sons to the ranks of the guerrilla, and he martyred some of these valiant sons in our war of existence and poverty against the enemy. He continued to increase our struggle by filling the place of each martyrdom with new participations and to set an example for all our people with this honorable stance. Comrade Şervan, who is a member of such a tribe, learned about our Movement in his childhood. Our comrade Şervan grew up listening to the epic struggle of the guerrilla and dreaming of becoming a guerrilla one day. When he reached the age when he realized the massacre, oppression and uprooting policies of the invaders on our people, he started to seek to become a guerrilla that he dreamed of. At the end of his search, he became involved in youth and self-defense work. In this process, he trained himself and carried out organizational activities by participating more actively. He realized the importance of being conscious and organized. Due to the work he carried out, he was subjected to the pressures of the invaders and had been detained many times. The system life he was in started to seem unbearable and meaningless to our comrade Şervan, he thought that every day he spent in the system meant serving the invaders and that he needed to make a radical exit. Our comrade Şervan, who knows that the way to radically fight the invaders is to be a guerilla, joined the ranks of the PKK to fulfill his historical responsibilities as a Kurdish youth.
Despite being young, our comrade Şervan, who has reached a mature personality due to the great responsibilities that history has placed on his shoulders, has set an example for all his comrades with his stance in life. With the training he received, he took firm steps forward. As Leader Apo understood his ideology, his emotional commitment became conscious. By dedicating himself to Leader Apo and the martyrs, he became an Apoist self-deprecating militant. He gave importance to military training in order to be a competent guerrilla, and gave morale to his comrades with his willing, enthusiastic and self-improving participation in the military academies he went to with his suggestion. With his hardworking, assertive and energetic structure, he has undertaken important tasks in his fields and demonstrated a successful practice. With our Leader’s Democratic, Ecological and Women’s Libertarian paradigm, our Movement, which leads the liberation of humanity, especially our people, has succeeded in being a pioneer among the pioneers. As the builder of an honorable and free life, he waged the war of truth relentlessly. Our comrade Şervan, who was deeply affected by the comradely relations from the first day he joined, was firmly attached to the comradeship and “became the comrade of the comrades”. He has responded to the era by participating in our freedom struggle, for which he believed in risking everything, with every cell of his life. The martyrdom of our comrade Şervan not only affected us, our comrades, but also sharpened our hatred and anger towards the invaders. By repeating the promise we made to our martyrs in the person of our comrade Şervan, their memories and legacies have become a torch that illuminates our path on the path of truth we have walked.
BRÛSK ANDOK
Our comrade Brûsk was born in Êlih as a member of a patriotic family. The patriotism of his family and environment has caused our comrade Brûsk to be sensitive to the problems of our people. Participation from his family helped him get to know our Movement at an early age. It is known that the genocidal Turkish state is trying to detach Kurdish youth from the freedom struggle by making them unconscious with special policies. It has been one of the main policies of the enemy, not just limited to Bakure Kurdistan, but rooting the Kurdish youth by spreading prostitution and drugs all over Kurdistan through police, soldiers, treacherous-contra-mafiatic structures. The aim of these policies, which are carried out with different methods in each region of Kurdistan, is to break the Kurdish consciousness and will. Êlih has also been one of the centers where these policies are most wanted to be implemented and disseminated. Thousands of patriotic and conscious Kurdish youth realized these policies thanks to the struggle of our Movement and joined the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle and fought to preserve their existence and obtain their freedom. Our comrade Brusk also noticed these policies of the invaders and started to question “how to live, what to do and where to start” against this. Since he knew our movement, he believed that he would find the answer to his search only in the PKK. First of all, he neutralized the enemy with his youth work. However, he has seen that it is not possible to protect the existence of our people without an armed struggle. It has decided that an honorable and free life against all kinds of denial and destruction can only be achieved by fighting against the invading Turkish state within the PKK. On this basis, in 2014, he turned his face to the Kurdstan mountains, which are places of freedom, and joined the guerrilla ranks.
Our comrade Brusk, our immortal commander Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz), started guerrilla in Gabar in the footsteps of comrade and received his basic training there. He learned guerrillaism in Gabar, where the memories of Egîds, Adils, Gulbahars and many of our martyrs are alive. He moved to Medya Defense Zones in order to develop himself in the Apoist line and prepare him for tough processes. Our comrade Brûsk, who became competent with the training he received here, started his practice in the field of Avaşîn. Our comrade Brûsk, who managed to become a self-sacrificing militant of the Apoist line, showed a great performance with his laboring and simple participation. Our comrade Brûsk, who goes to every task with great love, has had a successful practice. Our comrade Brûsk has made it clear that the only condition for achieving absolute victory is to break the absolute isolation in İmralı and to achieve the physical freedom of Rêber Apo. He continued his struggle on this miheng. Our comrade Brûsk, who enjoyed a free life away from the system on the mountain, enriched life with his own color with his comradely relations, which he was impressed by admiration. He left a great legacy of resistance to us, his comrades, with his fast-paced and steady participation until the moment of his martyrdom.”
