ZURICH – Following the large youth demonstration, a memorial event was held for the Italian anarchist Lorenzo Orsetti, who, under the name Tekoşer Piling, had joined the YPG units in Rojava and who fell on Şehîd during the liberation of Baxoz on February 13. Lorenzo’s father and friends, also known as ‘Orso’, also attended the commemoration, which took place at the historic cultural center La Fabrica Di Zurigo. The event took place in Italian and German.
Şehîd Tekoşer Piling’s father, Alessandro Orsetti, gave a speech about his son and explained that Lorenzo fell in love with the Democratic Confederalism paradigm and went to Rojava with this conviction. He also made it clear that his son was well aware that he could also fall to Şehîd, but that this did not stop him from believing in it.
Ahmet Yaman, Spokesman for External Relations of the Kurdish Democratic Council of Switzerland also gave a speech and drew attention to the fact that Lorenzo Orsetti has become a symbol not only of Kurdish society but also of the worldwide revolutionary struggle.
The commemoration continued with a documentary about Şehîd Tekoşer Piling called “Tekoser, il partigiano Orso”.
