ZURICH – European Revolutionary Youth Movements TCŞ (Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger) and TekoJIN (Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer) organized a march in Zurich, Switzerland, as part of the “Werin Cenga Azadiyê” campaign, to ensure the physical freedom of Leader APO. Kurdistanis who came together in Helvetiaplazt square in Zürich made a statement here. In the statement made on behalf of youth organizations, it was emphasized that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan had not been heard from for 2 years and it was stated that everyone who was sensitive should raise their voice against this practice.
Free Leadership free Kurdistan
Upon the call of TCŞ and TekoJIN, the people of Kurdistan, who came together in the Helvetiaplazt square in Zürich, Switzerland, made a statement here. Selma Sürer, co-chair of the Swiss Kurdish Council (CDK-S), spoke first at the event, which started with a moment of silence for the martyrs. CDK-S Co-chair Selma Sürer started her speech by celebrating the 4th of April, the birthday of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, “As the Kurdish people, especially the Kurdish youth and Kurdish women, we are here today to shout for the freedom of our Leader. We have not heard from our Leader for 25 months. In 2023 Newroz, millions of people all over the world expressed their devotion to his Leader and poured into the fields saying ‘Free Leadership, Free Kurdistan’. The year 2023 will be the year of freedom for our Leadership and Kurdistan.”
Youth will always be in action for Leader APO
After the action, Yusuf Tayfur, the spokesperson of TŞ Europe, made a speech on behalf of youth organizations. In his statement, Tayfur emphasized that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan has not been heard from for 2 years and called for sensitivity. Tayfur said, “Leader APO, who has given the hottest and most difficult struggle in these important historical days, has been kept under heavy isolation in the Imrali Dungeon for 24 years. We have not received any news from our leadership for 2 years. The fact that the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) of the Council of Europe did not announce its report on its visit to Imrali and that it could not meet with our Leadership increased the concerns even more.”
In his speech, Yusuf Tayfur emphasized that the youth always depend on Leader APO and that I will fight for his freedom and said, “Our movement should dedicate 2023 Newroz to Leader APO and the physical freedom of Leader APO should be ensured urgently both in Kurdistan and in Europe. once again showed us. In this hot process where the Kurdish people are closer to victory than ever before, every honorable Kurdish youth has to be the successor of Demirci Kawa. It is high time for the brave and honorable Kurdish youth to fill the resistance areas with the spirit of mobilization. We will increase our actions until the physical freedom of our Leader is ensured.”
After the speeches, the crowd marched with slogans and held a march in the city center of Zurich. Heeding the pouring rain, the mass action ended with the slogan “Bijî Serok APO” in Helvetiaplazt.
