SHEHBA – Thousands of Afrin residents, Shehba people, representatives of political parties, and civilian assembly members participated in the march organized by Kongra Star and Hîlala Zêrîn Movement. People who took a walk in Serdem Camp in Ehdas district marched to 4 Nisan Park in Maratê village. Activists carried banners reading “We will break the isolation with the women’s revolution and liberate the Leadership” and “Dem dema azadiyeye”. Slogans were frequently shouted saluting the resistance of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
After the march, the rally started with a moment of silence. Speaking at the rally, Kongra Star member Berjîn Afrin said, “We state that we have terminated the distribution of brochures for the physical freedom of Leader Öcalan, the leader of peace and humanity. The people’s bond with the Leader is strong and we will always be in the fields for their physical freedom,” he said.
Berjîn underlined that the Turkish state and capitalist powers implement heavy isolation because they know that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s ideas will end the crisis and chaos in the Middle East. Because they aim to detach societies from their core values with the politics they implement.
Saying, “Women from Afrin are the defenders of Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s ideas,” Berjîn emphasized that the protests will continue uninterrupted until Abdullah Öcalan’s physical freedom is achieved.
Şêrîn Reşid, director of the Afrin and Shehba Canton Hilala Zêrîn Movement, also said:
“The invading Turkish state is trying to prevent people, especially the Kurdish people, from reaching the Leader’s ideas through its unlawful isolation policy and plots against the Kurdish people. Recently, we have seen how the Iraqi government, with the support of the invading Turkish state, wanted to besiege the Maxmur Camp, where 12 thousand refugees from Bakure Kurdistan live. At the same time, the invading Turkish state’s invasion attacks against Shehba, different regions of Northern and Eastern Syria and the Kurdistan mountains continue.”
She added that the women of Şêrîn, Afrin and Shehba will protect their line until the end and remain loyal until the physical freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan is achieved.
The action ended with the slogan “Bijî Serok Apo”.
