Rêber APO has developed and advanced PKK with the characteristics of Heval Haki Karer and Kemal Pir. With their attachment to Rêber APO and their participation in the freedom struggle of the Kurdish society, the social unity, brotherhood between the different societies was made clear. Although Rêber APO was still alone at that time, they joined him and made the movement strong, encouraged and supported Rêber APO. In this sense, Rêber APO has enlarged the struggle of Şehîd Haki Karer and Kemal Pir by building and founding the PKK.
Hevaltî, the value of revolutionary friendship has also emerged from this as a value of the PKK. With the PKK, Rêber APO has made the Şehîds live on and immortalized them. That is why the PKK is also a party of the Şehîds. The PKK is Heval Haki Karer, is Heval Kemal Pir. Rêber APO said, “To become a party you have to live the style of these Hevals.”
After the international conspiracy, Rêber APO said that the party should be rebuilt and made the following clear: “The PKK should be rebuilt and must be rebuilt with the soul of Kemal Pîr and Bêrîtan.” Because their struggle against those who wanted to promote annihilation and destruction within the movement was more than clear.
Heval Bêrîtan did not accept the betrayal within the movement and fought in the line of Rêber APO. With her martyrdom, she made it clear that she would rather sacrifice herself than surrender to the enemies. She was so connected to freedom that she tore herself to pieces for it. She did not accept anything outside of freedom and did not accept or take seriously the statements of those who did not live the values of the PKK. She insisted on the PKK line and stuck to it. That is why Rêber APO also said after her martyrdom “I will live with the style and the soul of Bêrîtan the party building.”
With the style of Bêrîtan, the party becoming is lived. Namely, the non-acceptance of cooperation with the enemy, betrayal and abandonment of the struggle. Outside of freedom, it has not lived anything else. Her life and struggle was fully dedicated to freedom, the interests of the Kurdish society and the organization of the PKK, she did not allow herself anything else. That is why Heval Bêrîtan, who died on October 25, 1992, is still sacred and immortal within the PKK. But if Rêber APO had not taken care of Heval Bêrîtan’s martyrdom, analyzed her struggle and her attitude, thousands of people would not remember her today, because nobody would have understood her struggle.
Rêber APO also spoke of Heval Kemal Pîr. To understand his statement, one must understand the soul of Heval Kemal Pîr. Heval Kemal Pîr said, “Our feelings, our soul, our thinking, and our stillness are one with those of the Chairman. If yours are not like the chairman’s, then what are you doing among us? Either you stay among us with the chairman’s soul or you don’t stay with us, you are wrong here and should leave.” This is what Kemal Pîr said to Fatma, who had a marriage with Rêber APO, who was later found to be acting against Rêber APO and causing a lot of destruction in the party. Heval Kemal Pîr fought with her constantly and harbored a great hatred for her because he understood that she was acting against Rêber APO. Becoming party with Kemal Pîr’s style and living the role of vanguard, vanguard is possible only with the spirit of the chairman. If you become one with his feelings, his thoughts, his style, you can stay inside the PKK. This is how party building is lived within the PKK, it is not possible otherwise. Heval Kemal Pîr realized this and directed his struggle accordingly, which is why he fought against Fatma.
Rêber APO said: “With the soul of Kemal Pîr, you live the party building” for this reason. How did Kemal Pîr understand becoming a party? “If the party has accepted you and given you the opportunities of struggle, there is nothing else you need from the party,” that is the understanding of Kemal Pîr. You see yourself in the debt of the party and pay your debt by working day and night, putting yourself in service, winning life and developing values, that is becoming a party. Kemal Pir’s style was clear in this, the unity of thought, speech and action. Those who knew Heval Kemal Pir know this. This is the style of Rêber APO. Also in the defense writings Rêber APO made this clear as a political value for the cadres, Kemal Pir created this value with his way and struggle and Rêber APO with his characteristics and the characteristics of thousands of Şehîds brought, constantly increased and strengthened the struggle of the PKK for the freedom of the Kurdish society, the societies in the Middle East, but also all oppressed societies until today.
That is why the PKK is the party of the Şehîds. The Şehîds pave the way for the freedom fighters of today and recreate themselves with their characteristics. That is why the Hevaltî is so strong in the PKK, because Rêber APO created that as a value in the initial stage with his friendship with Heval Haki Karer and Kemal Pir. That is why the struggle against conspiracy and betrayal is a red line in the PKK, because Heval has highlighted Bêrîtan with her attitude, life and struggle.
However, remembering the Şehîds does not mean falling into mourning and surrendering to sentimental feelings, remembering the Şehîds means learning from their struggle and renewing, strengthening and enlarging the struggle with their qualities. Therefore, despite all the Şehîds, the PKK is a party that has increased and strengthened its struggle for freedom during the years of struggle and is now rolling like an avalanche over the enemy who cannot stand on its feet for long.
