NEWS CENTER – The Kurdistan Freedom Struggle continues its 50-year-old struggle. The fact that the struggle has reached this day with firm steps is undoubtedly the legacy of resistance left by the martyrs. In this sense, it is a more essential task than ever for the youth of Kurdistan to understand the reality of martyrs.
Qendil Mazlûm (Dersim Ahme), who had a pure life in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, also leaves behind a great legacy of resistance like every other revolutionary martyr. The adventure of life that started in Rojavayê Kurdistan becomes endless in Botan. Martyr Qendil Mazlûm has been leading the youth of Kurdistan throughout his life of struggle, and he has been involved in activities for the organization of youth and their participation in the revolution.
While describing his father, the martyr Qendil, he mentions that he is as pure and clean as an angel. Yusuf Ahme, the father of Qendil Mazlûm, who has been involved in youth work for many years and finally died in Botan in 2020, told Nûçe Ciwan Agency about Martyr Qendil.
“EVERYONE IN THE VILLAGE VISITED”
We were all very happy, our relatives came from Amude, Hesekê, my brother came. Everyone was very happy. Dersim went and visited everyone in the village. He stayed with us for a maximum of 2 hours. I told them to have lunch. He said no. They wanted to be remembered and left.
“ALL OF THESE ARE MY DERS”
We were very happy. Because he walked in the footsteps of thousands of martyrs and this is a source of happiness for us. This is how we saw it. Then they declared his martyrdom. We were saddened when we thought of our friends rather than his martyrdom. When we went to the cemetery, I said to his mother, “Look, do you see these? These are all Dersim. It doesn’t matter if they are Kurdish children or Arab children. They were martyred for this land.” When they arrived, I asked him where were you for 9 years. His friends answered. They said, “Father, we toured 4 parts of Kurdistan.” When they said that, I said, look, these martyrs are the martyrs of the people. They stayed in public for 9 years, only 3 hours with us. Conscientious, principled people should protect these people.
“THE PATH HE CHOOSE WAS THE PATH OF HONOR”
It was as I described my childhood. He never said anything wrong in their conversations. Villagers, our neighbors had never seen anything wrong. I am not saying this because my child was martyred. Such was his truth. He was always a good person. One day I had a problem with my neighbor, we started to argue. He came and intervened immediately. He wanted us to solve problems nicely. I wish everyone was like him. He chose his own path, and the path he chose was the path of honor. We hope their cause will not be in vain. If we follow in their footsteps, everybody does their job. We don’t want anything else.
Father Yusuf Ahme stated that everyone should follow the footsteps of the martyrs, and that everyone should approach the martyrs’ wishes by approaching them with patriotic feelings and working correctly, morally and honestly.
“Many people said guns. Yes, we do not say that everyone should go and buy weapons and fight just because our children are gone. We say that no matter what front you are on, which institution you work in, whatever you do; approach your action and business with an honest, truthful, moral and patriotic spirit. Then you will have fulfilled the wishes of the martyrs.
“IF YOUTH RISES, THIS SOCIETY RISES”
Young people can create anything. Look what he says about the youth, “Tû xortê ciwanî, tû zana û jîrî, xebatê xwe bike bi taktîr û bir, bixwîne bibîne mirovê şiyar gîhand ser stêran.” If the young people stand up, this society will stand up, if the young people calm down, the society will settle down. If young people work right, our society will flourish. When our enemy says he will crush you, we must do whatever is asked of each of us. Leadership has a word. He says, “We will take our case and our right by scraping it with our nails if necessary” We will resist until the end by scraping with our nails. Our opinion is that we will achieve success on the right path. These people will succeed.”
