NEWS CENTER – Young women in north-east Syria are in daily action as part of the young women’s new campaign “Jin Jiyan Azadî Serbixe Azadî”. With a wide variety of events and actions, they draw attention to the campaign and its demands, educate themselves and society.
The young women of the PYD came up with something special in the Hesekê region. The young women drove through the region in a bus and mainly visited the villages. The bus alone, which was decorated with posters and flags, attracted attention. On the bus is a selection of Rêber APO’s books in Kurdish and Arabic, which have been distributed to the local population.
The young women of the PYD made it clear that they implemented the campaign in order to make Rêber APO’s thinking and philosophy accessible to everyone and to spread his thinking everywhere.
Furthermore, the young women performed short plays on the street, in which attention was drawn to the violence and oppression of women and should encourage people to rethink.
The action will also continue in other cities of north-eastern Syria in the next few days.
In Qamişlo, too, the members of the Yekîtiya Jinên Ciwan did not remain silent and performed a play in the open street. In front of the city’s youth center, a very busy area, the young women blocked the street and attracted the attention of the population. They then started with their performance. During the demonstration, they discussed the heavy attacks of the enemy, who also used chemical weapons, and drew attention to the power of self-defense. The play ended with shouts of “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” and applause from the assembled population.
They explained that the enemy’s attacks try to dissuade people from their belief and hope and to scare them, but those who organize against these attacks can respond to these attacks and also defend themselves.
