“Comrade Çekdar Şoreş, one of the leading commanders of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, fell in Botan in July 2020. Our comrade Çekdar, who achieved great success in his 14-year guerrilla life and fought in many areas of our country Kurdistan, succeeded in becoming one of the exemplary militants of the Apoist philosophy. Our comrade Çekdar, who worked nonstop for the freedom of our people with his dervish life and fighting personality, became one of the leading commanders of the Democratic Modernity Guerrilla. Our comrade Çekdar, who has an uninterrupted guerrilla practice starting from Kelareş and from the peaks of the Zagros to the paradise valleys of Botan, fought by keeping the passion for freedom in his heart alive with his endless energy.
On the anniversary of his martyrdom, we commemorate our comrade Çekdar Şoreş, who was a tireless and brave commander with the great passion for freedom and the pursuit of truth that he carries in his heart, with respect and gratitude. We express our condolences to our patriotic Shax people, especially to his family, to the tribe of Xelîlan and to all patriotic people of Kurdistan, and we promise that we will fulfill the requirement of devotion to the memory of our martyrs by carrying our struggle to victory.

The individual only exists and gains meaning with his society. The language of our people, one of the most ancient peoples of history and living in harmony with the geography of Kurdistan for thousands of years, has been banned, their identity has been ignored and their culture blended with the greatest revolutions in the history of humanity, has faced the most brutal attacks of assimilation and destruction in history. In conditions where life was brought to the brink of extinction and death silence reigned by the colonialists, Rêber Apo intervened in history and started the most magnificent epic of resistance in history with the determination “Kurdistan is a Colony!”. Our immortal martyrs, who devoted themselves to the free future of our people without hesitation and helped the PKK turn into the most meaningful sum of values by shedding their blood drop by drop, have re-created the hope of freedom by tearing away the darkness. This unique line of resistance, the first seed of which was planted in Amed Dungeon and spread to every inch of Kurdistan in waves, was embraced by our patriotic people thirsting for freedom. This tradition of resistance, which was carried to a new level with the Serhildans, created the August 15 Resurrection Day with the first bullet fired by our immortal commander Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz) at the invaders and peaked by turning into a guerrilla in the mountains of Kurdistan. Our people, who are passionately involved in Rêber Apo’s freedom march, have become the embodiment of the reality of the people who are fighting by being cooked in struggle. This tradition of resistance, which was carried to a new level with the Serhildans, created the August 15 Resurrection Day with the first bullet fired by our immortal commander Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz) at the invaders and peaked by turning into a guerrilla in the mountains of Kurdistan.
Our city of Wan, which remained loyal to noble and ancient Kurdistani values despite all the attacks, never lost its hope and belief in a free future, and was one of the first areas where the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle was won, has embraced our struggle and the immortal martyrs of our struggle with serhildans. Our patriotic people of Shax, who created new generations with the culture of resistance created by the PKK and sent thousands of their brave sons to the ranks of the struggle, believed in the PKK’s line of victory wholeheartedly and never hesitated to pay the price when necessary. Our comrade Çekdar, who was born in a patriotic family of the Xelîlan tribe, where this strong tradition of resistance prevails, took the spirit of serhildan from his precious family and grew up knowing the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle from an early age. The fact that he grew up in a patriotic environment and in a family where he also joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle enabled our comrade to reach a strong level of knowledge and awareness. Our comrade Çekdar has never been indifferent to our people’s struggle for a free future, and has taken part in the struggle and deepened in practice. On the one hand, it internalized Rêber Apo’s philosophy of life, the reality of martyrs that made the PKK invincible, on the other hand, it recognized the reality of the enemy. Our comrade Çekdar, who tried to respond by participating more actively in the struggle against the dirty policies of the colonial Turkish state targeting Kurdish youth, was involved in youth work and pioneered the short process.
Our party, the PKK, created the tradition of carrying the resistance and weapons of each of our comrades who were martyred in the ranks of the struggle to victory by being taken over by the Apoist militants who followed them, and this tradition has been kept alive by the patriotic people of Kurdistan. To respond to the martyrdom of our comrade Comrade Çekdar, Martyr Dara Kato (Şakir İtah), the son of his uncle, who displayed a militant practice in the guerrilla ranks and was martyred in Botan in 2006, and to fulfill his duty against the attacks on Rêber Apo, to which he is devoted with great passion. In the same year, he joined the guerrilla ranks without hesitation. Comrade Çekdar, who joined the guerrilla ranks on April 4, the birthday of our people and our Leader, at a time when the attacks against our Leader and the struggle he created, were intensifying, He attributed a deep meaning to the first step of his guerrillaism. Our comrade Çekdar, who joined the guerrilla ranks in Kelareş and carried out his first practice during the intense war, overcame all difficulties with his strong will and took his place at the forefront by adapting to the guerrilla life in a short time. Our comrade Çekdar, who became a competent guerrilla and pioneer commander in the Kelareş area, where he stayed for 5 years, took part in many actions and dealt heavy blows to the invaders. Our comrade, who later moved to the Medya Defense Zones, became a guerrilla commander who was an expert in the military field and deepened in the ideological field with the training he received. After staying in the Heftanîn area for a while, our comrade Çekdar returned to the Zagros and continued his struggle in the areas of Cîlo, Çarçella and Zap. Our comrade Çekdar, who was one of the leading commanders of the Revolutionary People’s War that started in 2010, He had a great effort in inflicting heavy blows on the invaders in the Çarçella area. Our comrade, who devotedly devoted himself to the struggle for the freedom of our people, has worked tirelessly and has always led his comrades by taking his place at the forefront. Our comrade Çekdar, who followed in the footsteps of Martyr Reşid Serdar, did not let the enemy breathe and inflicted heavy blows on the invaders at every opportunity, was one of our comrades who put the militant spirit of the period into practice in the strongest way. Our comrade Çekdar, who moved to Cîlo after his successful practice in Çarçella, trained his comrades in the line of militancy and worked hard for them to develop and deepen in the line of Leadership. Comrade Çekdar, who dealt a heavy blow to the invaders by giving the first response to the invasion attacks launched by the colonial Turkish state on July 24, 2015 and aimed at liquidating the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, which is the free will of our people, has always successfully fulfilled his duty as a militant with the spirit of victory. Our comrade Çekdar, who fought for 7 years in the Cîlo, Çarçella and Zap areas without listening and dealt heavy blows to the invaders, took an active part in the process where heavy blows were dealt to the invaders in the Zap area, together with our martyr commander Martyr Elî Piling. Our comrade Chekdar, who is always concentrating to practice the new period guerrilla tactics and achieve victory, has always had a great insistence and desire to carry out guerrilla activities in Bakurê Kurdistan, in Botan, the heart of Kurdistan. Our comrade Çekdar, who achieved a commanding level ready for the requirements of the process and the war with the training he received at the Military Academies, went to Botan in 2019 and waged an epic struggle against the colonialists with his comrades. Our comrade Çekdar, who followed the footsteps of Martyr Delal Amedler and became the enemy’s nightmare wherever he went, successfully fulfilled his duty as the provincial commander in Botan.
