NEWS CENTER – Siwar, who promised revenge after the martyrdom of his uncle’s son Rojdem and Ibrahim, waved the flag he took over from the martyrs. Having lost both legs, Siwar continues his struggle for life, influenced by his fellow veterans.
Siwar Rojdem meets the fighters at the checkpoints established in Til Temir with the Rojava Revolution and establishes close relationships. He begins to bring firewood and fuel to the warriors so that they can warm up. After a while, using wood and diesel as an excuse, Siwar became interested in the ideas of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan through this small group and began to research. The sound of the revolution began to spread, many of Siwar’s family joined the YPG, and he continued to repair cars despite his insistence, due to the high participation of his family. Thus, it contributes to the revolution by undertaking the repairs of the cars that have broken down on the front. A few months after the martyrdom of his uncle’s son Rojdem in the village of Xeybîş, he receives the news of the martyrdom of Rojdem’s brother Îbrahîm. Siwar, insisting on his decision to follow the path of the martyrs, takes up arms and heads for the front.
ROJDEM’S DOÇKA HAS BEEN
Siwar, who lived his first war experience in the village of Xeybîş, where Rojdem was martyred, was in an intense conflict environment both as an arsenal keeper and at the front lines. While most of Til Temir’s villages were in the hands of warriors, some areas were occupied. On the one hand, Martyr Gelhat and Martyr Rûbar Qamişlo operations in the Cizîrê Region had begun for the cleansing of Kobanê villages.
Siwar, who took part in the Martyr Rûbar Qamişlo Campaign, describes those days as follows: “We were liberating at least two or three villages a day. We had reached Evdilezîz Mountain. We lost many martyrs in the Martyr Rûbar Campaign. For this we had a promise of vengeance. I realized my dream in the move and took my place as an associate professor and associate professor. Martyr Rojdem was an associate professor. I always wanted to follow in his footsteps, to be an associate professor in the wars against the occupation, and my friends gave me the dock of the martyr Rojdem.
WITH EDNAN THE TRAP HOUSE THEY ENTERED
We stayed in Til Hemam village with Heval Ednan. We were waiting for the repair of the associate professor who had taken a piece in the conflict, as well as for defense purposes with Heval Ednan’s associate professor. We had cleared many villages in the area, but many villagers were still with the gangs and did not know us. At the same time, many gang members were hiding in the houses and looking for an opportunity to attack. Because of the summer heat, Ednan and I were standing in the shadow of a house next to his dock car, watching the surroundings. Friends brought my associate professor that morning. I was relieved to see that he was ready to fight. Some friends also came that day. We started digging a trench. At that time, people on motorcycles were approaching us from afar. When they reached us, we asked why they had come; They said that after the gangs took over their house, they could not take their belongings and they wanted to take their belongings in the house.
We were warning the residents of the neighborhood who came to the area because of the mines laid by the gangs, and we said that no one should come to their homes until the mines were cleared. That group did not stay long in the village, and left the village after taking their belongings. Then, a different motorcycle, including a child, proceeded towards us, but this time we saw the owner of the motorcycle in Xeybîş village many times, and we did not allow him to enter his house because it aroused suspicion. Ednan and I had made our way to the house the man pointed to. We checked the first room. As I was walking towards the second room, an inner voice was pushing me back as if to say don’t open that door. I felt relieved when Heval Ednan bypassed the door. He also opened the door to the third room, it was clean. He made his way to the door of the second room, but I was still not comfortable. Heval Ednan opened the door and I hit the wall under the pressure. I would later learn that; Heval Ednan was martyred at that time.
ANOTHER MINE EXPLOSED
I too was covered in dust and stood up, unharmed. I was stunned by the pressure. Just as I took a step, another mine exploded and when I opened my eyes, I was in the hospital. I was not very conscious due to the pressure and the drugs given in the hospital. Sometimes I would ask why am I in the hospital, and I was asleep again. Now it was time to come to my senses, but I had left 26 days behind. I opened my eyes. I lifted the blanket off me. I saw that both of my feet were amputated above the knee. I couldn’t believe it. I covered the blanket once and opened it. This cycle continued for a long time.
TWO LIVING MARTYRS HAVE ANSWERED
I lay back on the bed and closed my eyes. The first question that came to my mind was how to move on with my life. I always asked myself the first question that came to my mind without getting bored or tired. My family and close friends around me noticed the situation. One day, two friends who did not have both feet above the knee came to visit me and the course of my life changed that day. I witnessed them clinging to life with their devotion to the struggle and their comrades. After two and a half months, three living martyrs joined hands and left the hospital.”
