BEHDINAN – Karayılan said, “They were planning to occupy a large part of Bashure Kurdistan, to invade and destroy Rojava Kurdistan until the centennial of Lausanne. You know the map that Erdogan showed at the UN meeting! They had a plan from Afrin to Diyana, which he referred to as 30 km deep, but in fact they aimed to reach the borders of the National Pact. And they’ve worked hard for it for the last 8 years. “If they had succeeded, they would have been discussing making a new treaty today,” he said. Murat Karayılan said that Britain and France, which led and ratified this treaty, should apologize to the Kurds as they apologized to the Algerians.
Calling all Kurdish forces to unite on a national line, Karayılan said for the conference to be held in Lausanne on the occasion of the 100th anniversary, “In the centennial of this massacre agreement, we, as the Kurdish people, must also reveal our national stance, show everyone that we do not accept this, that we are in this land as a people and that we are in this country. We need to announce to everyone that we have the right to live freely in these lands, and that no one has the right to claim rights and carry out genocide on these lands.”
Pointing out that the Turkish state wants to make Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan take a step back regarding the national rights of the Kurdish people and democratic measures, Karayılan said, “They sent a delegation to our Leadership to help the Kurdish people soften their rights and standards and change their stance. Leader Apo is against all of them. Our people, our society, those who believe in this truth of Leader Apo, those who want to defend the rights of the Kurdish people, and those who want Turkey to become a truly democratic republic, need to develop a much stronger struggle. needed,” he said.
PKK Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan’s interview broadcast on Stêrk TV is as follows:
The absolute isolation on the Kurdish People’s Leader continues; What can you state about it?
First of all, I respectfully greet Leader Apo and all his comrades who were held captive by the enemy. The isolation on Leader Apo, although not sufficient, is discussed to a certain extent and is on the agenda. The isolation is not limited to Imrali; Today, it has spread to the dungeons of all Turkey and Kurdistan, and a policy of isolation has prevailed throughout Turkey and Kurdistan. The isolation policy originates from the Turkish state’s policy of genocide in Kurdistan. In other words, they want to dominate the policy of genocide in Kurdistan, they are fighting for it. At the center of this is the psychological torture, aggravated isolation and isolation policy carried out in Imrali.
LEADER APO IS WANTED TO TAKE BACK ON NATIONAL RIGHTS AND DEMOCRATIC MEASUREMENTS
This situation cannot be attributed to a single Turkish state’s holding to account or a vengeful approach, and it cannot be explained only by a policy of hostility. On the basis of this is Leader Apo’s defense of national stance and democratic measures. The Turkish state wants to make Leader Apo take a step back on the national rights and democratic measures of the Kurdish people. Many times they went to Leader Apo for this. In the election process, they sent a delegation to our Leader’s side to show his stance on the AKP side, to soften the measure of the rights of the Kurdish people, and to change his stance again. Leader Apo has been resisting all of these for 25 years, with an almost superhuman stance and spirit, with great will and patience. Undoubtedly, there is a style like the 14th of July spirit at the root of this. In fact, Leader Apo is the creator of the spirit of July 14, its ideology and philosophy. Leader Apo, He is a person whose words and deeds complement each other. This style of his has already become a style of the whole PKK. So he does what he says. Leader Apo has and insists on the national rights of the Kurdish people, the right to identity, the right to language, the right to self-government, and the standards of a Democratic Turkey. For this reason, they carry out an aggravated isolation in this way and continue their psychological attacks with various methods. Their aim is to make our Leader take a step back. For example, they previously accepted Leader Apo as the leader of the Kurdish people and they held talks with him for 3 years. This means that the state saw the influence of Leader Apo and determined it. In fact, he identified his influence on the Kurdish people and accepted him as the Kurdish People’s Leader. Some officials also expressed this in front of the press. Again, they have already expressed this many times during the negotiations. In other words, they accepted that Leader Apo was the Kurdish People’s Leader in Kurdistan. But because they insist on the policy of genocide, Leader Apo also insists on the existence policy of the Kurdish people, the rights of the Kurdish people, the right of the Kurdish people to govern and democratic measures against them. In this context, there is almost a war there. This has been going on for 25 years. Maybe interview processes, etc. There may have been interim periods, but mainly it continued in those periods with various methods. But because they insist on the policy of genocide, Leader Apo also insists on the existence policy of the Kurdish people, the rights of the Kurdish people, the right of the Kurdish people to govern and democratic measures against them. Maybe interview processes, etc. There may have been interim periods, but mainly it continued in those periods with various methods.
ALL KURDS SHOULD TAKE THEIR FIGHTING AGAINST THE Isolation
What needs to be understood here is this: Leader Apo is defending the rights of not only PKK members but all Kurds there. It defends the Kurdish existence, the Kurdish identity right. It advocates democratic measures. At that time, all Kurds should embrace and support the struggle that Leader Apo represents in Imrali. All Kurds should consider themselves responsible for Leader Apo’s freedom and the fight against isolation. This is a moral, humanitarian and national duty. So if someone is sacrificing that much for the people, and if I’m a member of this people and I stand up for these rights, then I should be with them. Opinions may not be the same on many issues – and I say this for our people who are in different parties – but regardless of their views, every Kurd should oppose isolation and participate in the struggle for freedom.
Again, whoever wants democracy in Turkey should oppose the isolation and this psychological torture. In other words, it should oppose the Imrali system. A person who does not oppose this will not be able to carry out a struggle for democracy on the right basis in Turkey, nor can he bring democracy to Turkey. Then all Turkish intellectuals, democrats, the real opposition who want democracy to develop in Turkey must first oppose the isolation. Because isolation is the violation of all legal standards, it is injustice, it is breaking the law. This is something to consider.
LEADER APO NATION REPRESENTS THE DEMOCRATIC NATION AGAINST THE STATE
What is the current government doing so far? They arrest and imprison anyone who says ‘there is isolation’ in Turkey – which we have seen recently. I mean, he doesn’t even want anyone to talk about it. He is committing an unlawful act, but he doesn’t even want anyone to argue about it. However, they do not know that Leader Apo’s ideas and thoughts far exceed the borders of Türkiye. In other words, Leader Apo is developing the solution for the peoples of the region with the paradigm he developed and the formula of the democratic nation he developed. It reveals the solution of problems for Arab, Assyrian-Syriac, Armenian, Turkish, Persian, Kurdish and all peoples. Therefore, our Leader is not only the leader of the Kurdish people. It develops and represents the democratic nation against the nation-state politics. Again, Leader Apo is the theorist and creator of the Democratic Modernity Paradigm. Everyone who believes in the Democratic Modernity Paradigm sees Leader Apo as a philosopher, and himself as a student of Leader Apo. Many intellectuals and academics have expressed this in many international meetings. In other words, Leader Apo has exceeded the borders of Kurdistan and Türkiye today. This is a reality. But whoever talks about it and says ‘like a philosopher’, they arrest him. This is the truth. He developed so many ideas, wrote so many books, and revealed an alternative paradigm that will be a light for the whole world. They cannot cover it. Just as the sun cannot be covered with mud, they cannot cover the light emanating from the truth of Leader Apo. This is now a reality. Many intellectuals and academics have expressed this in many international meetings.
WE MUST DEVELOP A MUCH MORE GROWTH FIGHT
So where is the shortcoming here? The shortcoming is in ourselves. Our people, our society, those who believe in this truth of Leader Apo, those who want to defend the rights of the Kurdish people, and those who want Turkey to become a truly democratic republic, need to develop a much stronger struggle. So a much more massive struggle is needed. It has been understood: Of course, the resistance of the guerrilla preceded many things and defeated many of the enemy’s plans. Again, Kurdish politics has a certain stance. The resistance in the dungeons and our people have a certain stance. These are not few things. But these are not enough. In order for it to be sufficient, it needs to be engaged massively. So the community has to step in. Again, the serhildan wave should be organized.
As it is known, the conditions were very difficult during the ’89-’90 period and there was great persecution at that time. Only in the funeral ceremony of the esteemed revolutionary Vedat Aydın, 22 people were martyred in the streets of Amed, hundreds of people were injured and arrested. In other words, there was so much cruelty in those years, but the serhildans that developed at that time created breaches in the Turkish state system and paved the way for the existence of the Kurdish people with democratic politics. In this way, the resurrection revolution took place. Something like this is necessary today. So today, the serhildan wave should develop. All Kurdish youth, Kurdish women, laborers from Kurdistan, revolutionary democrats from Turkey and the peoples of the region must now focus on this. In other words, we must shout out Leader Apo’s freedom more massively and develop a more vigorous struggle against isolation and injustice.
ROJAVA REVOLUTION HAS BEEN AN EXPANSIVE REVOLUTION
We are on the 11th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution. What do you think about the meaning, importance and effects of this revolution in the region?
First of all, I commemorate all the martyrs of the Revolution in Rojava and North East Syria with respect in the person of our esteemed commanders Xebat Dêrîk, Fazil Botan, Şîlan Kobanê, Gelhat Gabar, Arîn Mîrkan, Karker Êrîş and Avesta Xabûr, and I bow respectfully before their memories. I repeat once again the promise we made to our heroic martyrs. Again, July 20 is the anniversary of Suruç martyrdom. In 2015, while the socialist-democratic-revolutionary youth were on their way to Kobanê to meet the Rojava Revolution, they were attacked by the MIT and ISIS, and 33 revolutionaries were martyred in this attack. I commemorate those heroes with respect and bow respectfully in front of their memories. I reiterate the promise we made to our martyrs for these esteemed international comrades.
The Rojava Revolution has many meanings. Initially, Kurdistani developed as a revolution, but then it went beyond its own borders and became a revolution of first all Rojava Kurdistan and then all of Northern and Eastern Syria. It became an expanding revolution, encompassing the Arab people, the Assyrian-Assyrian people and all segments living in Northern and Eastern Syria. Of course, it set an example for the whole of Syria. In other words, he set the development of a democratic revolution in Syria as a target and clarified the perspective. In these respects he played a really important role.
ROJAVA REVOLUTION SUCCESSFUL TO STRENGTHEN ITSELF
It also faced attacks as well; On the one hand it fought, on the other hand it protected and structured itself. In other words, Rojava Kurdistan and the Northern and Eastern Syrian Revolution have become a revolution for the defeat of ISIS, which has plagued the whole world, especially Al Nusra. On this basis it has become a fraternity of peoples and the system in which democracy is created. Obviously, there are many who oppose the values represented by the Rojava Revolution. That’s why there were so many attackers. As it is known, attacks were developed especially by the colonialist-genocidal Turkish state. On the one hand, the revolution resisted those attacks, on the other hand, it developed its efforts to put the democratic nation politics into action.
Most importantly, it has become a women’s revolution. This revolution was led by women. They showed the whole world how Kurdish and Arab women became a will on the battlefield and in the field of politics. So in this way, there was a women’s revolution, a Kurdish people’s revolution, a peoples’ revolution, a democracy revolution. The Rojava Revolution shed light on the darkness of the Middle East. And there are still expectations from him. Although it has enemies, it is still under siege and under attack, its front is also open. Because it is based on the will of the peoples and their own power. On this basis, it has relations with global powers and various powers; it basically exists. Perhaps no one thought that this revolution could last this long, protect itself, and strengthen itself more and more. But they succeeded. It is indeed a labor is courage. On this basis, we respectfully greet all our peoples of Rojava and the North and East. We appreciate them. We believe that no matter how many attacks they face, they will win. Because their way is the right way.
LAUSANNE IS AN AGREEMENT DENIING THE KURDISH PEOPLE AND KURDISTAN
We are in the centennial year of the Treaty of Lausanne, which divided Kurdistan into four parts. What would you say about the effect of this treaty on the Kurds? There is also an important conference to be held in Lausanne on the occasion of its centennial year. What would you say about this conference?
Undoubtedly, the Treaty of Lausanne is not only an agreement that divides Kurdistan into four parts. The Treaty of Lausanne is an agreement that denies Kurdistan and the Kurdish people. This basically created the basis for the genocide on Kurdistan. In other words, if it is said that “the treaty dividing Kurdistan into 4 parts”, this alone will not be enough. It is the agreement that was decided in the genocide carried out mainly in Kurdistan. Until then, what were the pioneers of the Kemalist movement claiming to create a new Turkey saying: “We and the Kurds are co-founders. We want to establish a country within the borders of the National Pact. We are together and the Kurds will be autonomous among us.” Mustafa Kemal himself said the same, they said such things in many recordings. In fact, there were decisions taken in this direction in 1921 by the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which was established in 1920. In other words, Kurdish autonomy was accepted by the Turkish administration. This was accepted by the Assembly. But when this agreement was signed, Türkiye also denied all this.
THERE IS GENOCIDE IN KURDISTAN
So why was this agreement signed? The British and French were leading the countries that won the First World War – and the agreement was already made under their responsibility. And again, according to the possibilities at that time, it was determined that oil and various underground riches were found in Mosul, Kirkuk, Rimelan and some other places. They also made various bargains on this. As it is already known, the Lausanne debates took a long time. In those discussions, they negotiated on Kurdistan. The British had already taken most of the sources of wealth, the French were willing to have a small portion to their share, and on this basis they made the decision to partition, partition and at the same time deny Kurdistan. Because if they did not deny it, they were obliged to give their rights. The Kurdish people are the most ancient people in the Middle East region, Mesopotamia. It has cultural richness. It is a people who first hosted the human revolution. It is a people that has hosted the human civilization, the neolithic revolution. If they did not deny the existence of such a people, they could not deny their rights. Then they have to make room for him. Since they make a place for everyone in the Middle East, this should be a right for the Kurds as well. However, they deny the existence of Kurds. Then they have to make room for him. Since they make a place for everyone in the Middle East, this should be a right for the Kurds as well. However, they deny the existence of Kurds. Then they have to make room for him. Since they make a place for everyone in the Middle East, this should be a right for the Kurds as well. However, they deny the existence of Kurds.
This denial becomes the basis of destruction and genocidal. It has been 100 years since then. Many massacres took place in Kurdistan. It was conducted primarily in Amed, Hani, Palo, Genç, and then in Sulaimani and many other regions in Bashure Kurdistan. Anfal, massacres, Halabja in Serhat, Zîlan Valley, Ağrı, then Dersim, then again in Bashure Kurdistan… Again, they carried out this in Rojhilat Kurdistan, Rojava Kurdistan and everywhere else. In other words, Kurdistan is under the system of genocide persecution, there is genocide in Kurdistan.
THIS DEAL IS A KILLER
Now it is necessary to state who is responsible for this. Britain and France are responsible for this. Undoubtedly, those who implement it are the dominant colonialist states over this region. But it was England and France that led and confirmed it.
France and England had invaded many countries of the world and apologized to these countries many times for their negative practices. For example, the last time France apologized to Algeria. Now they have to apologize to Kurdistan as well. Why haven’t they apologized to Kurdistan until now? Because they did this implicitly, and the Kurds could not come to the level of demanding and imposing it. But that is the reality. It is this agreement that led to the development of these disasters in Kurdistan, the absence of Kurdistan, its denial, and genocide and massacres. This deal is a killer. Of course, everyone who signs this has a responsibility.
TURKEY’S PURPOSE IS TO REACH THE NATIONAL LIMITS OF THE PARTICLE-I
Now it is essentially as follows: Until a few years ago, it was stated that the international agreements within the Turkish state were no longer valid after a hundred years. This does not mean that there is such a clause in the Treaty of Lausanne. No. This is how Turkish state officials and experts interpreted it. And they were planning to occupy a large part of Bashure Kurdistan until the centennial of Lausanne, to invade and destroy Rojava Kurdistan. You know the map that Erdogan showed at the UN meeting! They had a plan from Afrin to Diyana, which he referred to as 30 km deep, but in fact they aimed to reach the borders of the National Pact. And they’ve worked hard for it for the last 8 years. If they had succeeded, they would have had discussions of making a new treaty today.
Of course, Turkey has not given up on this, but it could not implement its invasion plan, because it was blocked in the Zap. They have not been able to occupy the Zap for these three years and there is a war going on right now. This is something that has happened for the first time in the history of the Kurdish people. The war against this state has been waged on the same front for 3 years. They are stuck here. Therefore, they do not put it on the agenda at the moment, but they also want to continue and develop their projects.
In other words, the Turkish state wants to bring the project of occupying the borders of the National Pact to a conclusion with its genocidal policies towards Kurdistan. It strives for this; For this reason, he is opposing the entire Kurdish people, for this he is now conducting politics. Now it wants to implement it through NATO. This is so.
EVERYONE MUST UNITE AT THE NATIONAL LINE
It is very meaningful and important to hold a conference in the city of Lausanne as well as on the centennial of Lausanne. I greet everyone attending the conference. I hope this will be the foundation of national unity. This conference is a national conference. Maybe some may not. However, those who do not participate should also join in the future if they want to become a national power. In short, this conference takes place at a national level; It is very precious and very sacred. I invite everyone to attend this conference.
In fact, on the centennial of this murderous agreement, we, as the Kurdish people, must reveal our national stance, show everyone that we do not accept this, and announce to everyone that we are in this land as a people and that we have the right to live freely in these lands, and that no one has the right to claim rights or carry out genocide on these lands. Look, there are historic opportunities today. Such opportunities have existed before, but they were not used. For example, from 1830 to 1850 there were great possibilities. At that time, the Ottoman Empire and the states in the region were very weak. On the other hand, Mir Mihemed Pasha Rewanduzî and Botan Miri Bedirxan Beg were very strong. In fact, if both of them agreed, they could become a state and perhaps change the fate of the Kurdish people. But what did they do? ‘I’ each said. Mir Mihemed Rewanduzî attacked the Yazidis in Shengal and declared an edict against the Kurds. Then they attacked Botan. There was a war between them. What happened next? Both were defeated. Now this should not be repeated. Of course, there were many opportunities after that. It happened in the 1920s, and it happened many times. However, there are opportunities now, and no one has the right to destroy them in the face of organizational or family interests. Nobody should do this, everybody should unite on the national line. This century also makes this reality obligatory for us. That’s why I call for real national unity to happen. It happened in the 1920s, and it happened many times. However, there are opportunities now, and no one has the right to destroy them in the face of organizational or family interests. Nobody should do this, everybody should unite on the national line. This century also makes this reality obligatory for us. That’s why I call for real national unity to happen.
QUESTION TO NATO: ARE YOU WITH THE TURKISH STATE’S GENOCIDE POLICIES?
It was a NATO meeting. It is understood that the war waged by the Turkish Republic against the Kurdish people will be further supported there. So much so that right after this meeting, tactical nuclear bombs were used against the Sîda and Girê FM resistance areas. What does this mean?
It seems that the Turkish state wants to create the second Lausanne through and with the help of NATO. There is a law in NATO; In order for a new member to be accepted, each member state must give its approval. Türkiye also used this law as a card and blackmailed her. Everyone thinks that Turkey wants Sweden to take a stand against the PKK and the Kurds. But it is not so. Türkiye and everyone knows very well that there is no PKK cadre in Sweden. Turkey’s main aim is to bring the states in NATO to its genocidal line. Turkey asked the NATO states to further strengthen their support for their genocidal policies and to give their approval to banned weapons and especially tactical nuclear weapons. It is clear that the Turkish state sees all Kurds who claim their identity as terrorists. In other words, in the eyes of the Turkish state, not only PKK members, All Kurds who do not bow down and claim their identity are terrorists who must be killed. NATO states need to see this truth.
Look, 15 press members who did nothing but journalism a year ago were arrested in Amed. They kept them in prison for 13 months, then took them to court and these journalists tried the court in court. They said, ‘We have nothing to do with anyone, we only do journalism’. Indeed it is, there is nothing. They had to evacuate. By the way, I greet these precious people. From now on, every Kurd, whether affiliated with an organization or not, needs to take care of himself and what he does. These people also went to the court of the Turkish state, claimed what they did, and tried the court. They claimed their identity and work, and some made their defense in Kurdish. This is very valuable and meaningful. Especially in the free Kurdish press, it is a new level and everyone needs to raise this level even more.
The Turkish state considers any Kurd who does not surrender to it and does not act as a spy, as a terrorist, and thus mainly seeks to exterminate the Kurds in the Middle East. Now he openly declares that he is against Rojava. What did Afrin do in Serêkaniyê and Til Ebyad (Girê Spî)? Are there any Kurds left in Serêkaniyê and Til Ebyad? He wants to take all the Kurds in Afrin and make them say ‘I am a Turk of Kurdish origin’. The Turkish state wants to carry out a policy of genocide on the Kurdish people. He has already declared in Rojava, he wants to continue this. He says, ‘Let’s solve Northern Syria first, then we will focus on Northern Iraq’. At the moment, it is trying to occupy the strategic mountains and organize organizations from Kirkuk to Mosul, as it is known, through the Turkmen. In other words, its main aim is to eliminate the Kurds. Because the Turkish state has not abandoned its policy of genocide and sees the existence of Kurdish status and Kurdish identity as a threat to its own survival. This is not slander, it is the truth. Woe to the Kurds who do not know this!
The Turkish state does not want to leave anything belonging to the Kurds in the Middle East. Maybe he doesn’t turn everyone against him, he puts them in line to use some of the official officials as agents. It is true, there are such efforts. Some policy makers openly say on television that “if we do not remove the Kurdish wound, we cannot escape the danger”. That’s why they want to complete the occupation and make the genocide policy dominant.
Now we ask the NATO states: Are you with the genocidal policies of the Turkish state? If you are not together, why do you see Turkey’s demands as legitimate? What promises did you make behind the scenes? They need to answer these questions. Meetings held last year in Spain and this year in Lithuania raise doubts. What promises were made behind the scenes, they need to be explained. Will they be Turkey’s partners in the genocide of the Kurds? This is important.
TURKISH STATE USES TACTICAL NUCLEAR WEAPONS IN NATO INVENTORY
And I would like to appeal to the peoples, intellectuals, artists and human consciences of NATO member states: Do not be a party to Turkey’s massacres, oppose them. The Turkish state wants to exterminate the Kurds, it wants to carry out genocide, it is using terror against the Kurds. Do not wash your hands with the blood of the Kurds, do not become partners with the Turkish state. My call to the peoples of NATO member states is to oppose this policy. Because this state wants to carry out physical and white genocide on the Kurds. He wants to end the Kurds with the various policies he is currently pursuing. No one should be involved in it.
Another is tactical nuclear weapons. Now we’re talking, maybe some people don’t believe it. But there are images. Everything seems clear. There are also tubes with tactical nuclear bombs, our friends took a close up. What is a tactical nuclear bomb? The tactical nuclear bomb is a slightly attenuated, ie slightly reduced, form of ‘softened uranium’. For example, a 10-pound tactical nuclear bomb has the effect of a ten-ton bomb. So each kilo has a ton of explosive effect. We know that NATO had distributed this bomb to the member states in order to use it in possible situations and gave it to Turkey. Some officials have already announced this. These kinds of bombs are different in Russia, Pakistan, India, China, that is, in countries that make nuclear weapons, of course. But we know that it is also in the NATO inventory. Now, for 3 years, the Turkish state has been using it against us. It was used again in Girê Sor in 2021, then in Werxelê, then in the war process of 2022, and lastly on July 13, 2023, a few days before that, in the Zap.
This weapon creates an earthquake effect. Where it is used, the mountain shakes and emits toxic gases around it. So it’s a banned weapon. Is the Turkish state using this weapon with NATO’s approval or is it using it on its own? It cannot be used on its own. Undoubtedly, it uses it with NATO’s approval. We are now asking NATO: The newly extended secretary general is talking about terrorism. Is it the Kurds or the Turkish state that carries out terror and massacre? Put your hands on your conscience, speak the truth and do not approve of tactical nuclear bombs. Do not get your hands on the blood of Kurdish youth. Kurdistan freedom guerrillas are Kurdistan’s self-defense forces. He did not reach out to anyone’s property and country. The Turkish state came and occupied our country. If your country is invaded, won’t you resist? We are doing this right now. It is our natural right to protect ourselves. Our call is this: NATO states should not support the massacres of the Turkish state and should not give tactical nuclear bombs to the Turkish state. At the same time, our call is for everyone with a conscience of humanity, democratic forces and human rights defenders.
CALL FOR MAZLUM DAĞ AND ABDURRAHMAN ER ON HUNGER STRIKE
Mazlum Dağ and Abdurrahman Er, who are imprisoned in Hewlêr dungeon, have been on hunger strike for more than 60 days. Their health condition is now at a critical stage. What would you like to point out about this?
As we have stated, we have been subjected to massacres and arrests as a people for 100 years. Kurds remained in the dungeons of all these states, were tortured and killed. Today, there are Kurdish power and prisons in two parts, namely Bashure Kurdistan and Rojavayê Kurdistan. There should be no persecution and torture in the prisons of the Kurdish government. In other words, we should not do to our own people or even to our enemies what our murderous enemies did to us. I say this for both Rojava and Bashur.
Now, I don’t want to have that discussion about what crime the two Kurdish youths in Başûr did or didn’t commit. Maybe they could have helped in that case. It is already known that they are not the people who did it. However, the Bashur administration showed their capture as a success and decided to execute them. One of them has nothing to do anyway, the other is related because of the excitement of youth. In short, they are human beings and Kurds after all, and these people have now been on hunger strike for 60 days because of the pressure on them. It seems that they will not stop this action.
If these young people are martyred, what does it mean for the prime minister and president of the Kurdistan region? Wouldn’t it be a great shame? They say, “If you want to know a country about democracy, human rights and law, you should look into their prisons”. This should not happen in Kurdish prisons. Especially the Kurds should not do this to each other. This is not a political issue. This is a humanitarian, moral and conscientious issue. What does it mean when people go on hunger strike and become martyrs because of the persecution under your control? Why haven’t they intervened so far? The wishes of those young people are not big things, I can’t understand why they haven’t been focused on until now.
Some things don’t make sense. The measures taken on the border between Rojava and Bashur are not found anywhere else in the world. However, both sides are Kurds. Why is that so? Is there no sense of nationality? Come on, you are against each other politically, but there are national interests, there are humanitarian things. The USA goes back and forth so that the Semalka Border Gate between them can work. So they can’t bring them together. They go from Hesekê to Hewlêr, and they want to soften things up so that the door works. Isn’t this a shame for Kurdish politics? This is really backwards. It is a narrow, tribal mentality. There is no such understanding at this time. There are also things where even those who fight each other can sit down and agree on their interests. So why don’t the Kurds do this? This has to be overcome and we hope it will. forces all over the world, Although there is a compromise between states, do we not have the consciousness to solve the problems between us? Doesn’t mean that’s what happens. This is shameful, of course. Such things should disappear. This is important for all our people. If politics is like this, of course others will make such calculations on Kurdistan. Today, the states that dominate Kurdistan gather and can agree on many issues, but the Kurds cannot do this. We hope that this period will be overcome with the Lausanne Conference that will take place. That’s why I call on our people to unite around the conference and ensure their national unity. As a movement, we will depend on all the decisions that will come out of the conference, and all patriotic organizations must take such an attitude so that we can end this fragmentation. Do we not have the consciousness to solve the problems between us? Doesn’t mean that’s what happens. This is shameful, of course. Such things need to disappear. This is important for all our people. If politics is like this, of course others will make such calculations on Kurdistan. Today, the states that dominate Kurdistan gather and can agree on many issues, but the Kurds cannot do this. We hope that this period will be overcome with the Lausanne Conference that will take place.
IF Türkiye DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE KURDISH WILL, IT WILL LOSE
Finally, can we have something you want to point out?
The Turkish state has been trying to dominate the genocide with a new concept for 8 years. They wanted to complete it in 2023, it wanted to declare its sovereignty on the 100th anniversary of Lausanne and the Republic. In this context, there has been a tough war and it continues. For the first time in our history, including both the Ottoman period and the republican period, as Kurds, we have been continuously protecting our position against all the weapons of the period, banned weapons and the most recent tactical nuclear bombs in the same position for 3 years. This is an achievement that is a source of pride for us. Kurdish men and women have blocked the Turkish army, which calls itself “NATO’s second largest army,” in the Zap for 3 years. Although the Turkish army uses all kinds of weapons, it cannot advance. This is an important level for Kurds to act with pride and faith everywhere today.
The Turkish state needs to see this truth. They can’t beat us. They cannot destroy us as a people. They must recognize our will, accept our existence, and see our rights. If they don’t, they lose. The PKK has been fighting for 50 years, there has been war for 40 years, but for 8 years, a new and comprehensive concept has been waged with the technology of the period. In this war, the Turkish state mobilized all its resources. The Turkish state spent all of Turkey’s material resources. Türkiye is hungry for this now. Türkiye is now in an economic, political, social and military crisis. Erdogan is now seeking money from Arab states, begging. From where? To use it against the Kurds. He also tours NATO states. From where? Because it seeks support against the Kurds. In other words, it wants to unite with everyone to eliminate the Kurds. But they can’t anymore. A will was formed in the Kurds, philosophy developed. The spirit of July 14 resistance took root. There are now Apoist Fedayeen militants on these lands. We, as a people, have the right to live freely on these lands and we will live freely. This is our call for the Turkish state: ‘Stop your massacre policy. If you don’t quit, you will lose, we will win. Success is ours. Our way is right, our cause is right. As long as we have such brave people as a people, it is certain that we will live freely in the Middle East. No one can prevent this.’ On this basis, I call on all Kurdish people and Kurdish youth to participate more in the democratic struggle.
