BEHDINAN – HPG guerrillas Orhan Lotos and Armanc Kolîs spoke to the ANF about the 14 July resistance.
Orhan Lotos, who started his speech by commemorating all the martyrs of the revolution in the person of the July 14 martyrs, said, “First of all, on the 42nd anniversary of the 14 July resistance, I commemorate all our martyrs with gratitude in the person of heval Kemal, Hayri, Ali Çiçek and Akif Yılmaz, and bow with respect before their memories. July 14 has an important place in the history of Kurdistan and humanity. Even today it determines the style of our struggle. The isolation and tortures against our Leader in Imrali Prison are worse than the conditions in Diyarbakir Prison. Leader Apo has been in a heavy isolation for 24 years. He has not been allowed to meet with his lawyers and family for months, and not a single statement is given to the public.
Rêber Apo is expanding his resistance on the island of Imrali with a revolutionary stance, moment by moment. Freedom guerrillas are also displaying a great resistance against the genocidal attacks and the isolation of Imrali with a self-sacrificing spirit in all areas of Kurdistan, especially in Zap, Avaşin and Metina. We will continue our struggle until the last drop of our blood for the physical freedom of Rêber Apo. Everyone who has a conscience and is patriotic must resist these genocidal attacks. Because the only option against fascism is to resist. We trust and believe in our people, everyone should join this honorable resistance and fly the flag of victory. I once again commemorate the martyrs of July 14 and all martyrs of the revolution with respect. We will continue our struggle with the spirit of July 14 until we achieve success.”
FROM DIYARBAKIR DUNGEON TO IMRALI, RESISTANCE CONTINUES WITHOUT BREAK
HPG guerrilla Armanc Kolis, reminding that the 14 July insurgents Kemal Pir, Mehmet Hayri Durmuş, Ali Çiçek and Akif Yılmaz started a death fast against the atrocities in Diyarbakır Prison in 1982, said: “Heval Kemal, Hayri, Ali and Akif are fighting for freedom. They took such a decision and continued their resistance until martyrdom. If that resistance that started in 1982 still continues today, it is thanks to these heroes. The Leadership, which says, “I draw my strength from the martyrs,” has been displaying an uninterrupted resistance in Imrali for 24 years.
No matter what the invading enemy does, they cannot break the will of the Leader. Today, the spirit of July 14 resistance is living in Imrali and in the mountains of Kurdistan. The Turkish state once again wants to receive our friends imprisoned in dungeons. I once again commemorate those heroes of the resistance that has not been broken since 1982, with respect, we all owe them. On this basis, we will continue our struggle and make the freedom of our people inevitable.”
