BEHDINAN – Commander Adar Amed (Hatice Ay) was born in Amed in 1990 in a patriotic family. When Adar Amed was only 2 years old, her father, Abdullah Ay, was shot and killed by the contras. After her family moved from the village to Kulp, she sees better the difference between village and city life, the difference between Kurds and Turks at school, the position of women in society, and the difference between women and men.
Trying to find answers to the contradictions and questions in her mind, Adar Amed was deeply affected by the action of Viyan Soran, one of the leading cadres of the PKK, in 2006. She came to the conclusion that the Kurdish people cannot have a life without People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and with this determination she joined the guerrilla ranks from Amed, where she was reborn and raised in 2008. Finding the meaning of life in the ranks of the guerrilla, Adar Amed takes the Apoist ideology and philosophy as a basis with great love and passion.
Between 2008 and 2014, she fought an uninterrupted struggle against the attacks of the Turkish state in Amed. She overcame many difficulties in her 6 years of Bakur practice. As a YJA Star guerrilla who does not give up in the face of difficulties with her strong will, she moved to Medya Defense Zones in 2014.
Every revolutionary has very effective stages that become an important point of change and transformation in their struggle. Studying at the Martyr Bêrîtan Academy, a free women’s academy, was also be a new milestone for comrade Adar Amed. She reflected the insistence of a free woman personality in her life, turned the results she draws during the education process into the steps of her strong practice that she will carry out later.
SHE WAS AFFECTED BY THE COMRADSHIP RELATIONS IN THE PKK
Adar Amed, who was included in the training at the Martyr Rojîn Gewda Operations School, later moved to the Haki Karer Academy. She was involved in the training process based on the HPG’s restructuring project at the Haki Karer Academy, and locked into realizing the victory guerrilla in her personality.
Adar Amed, like thousands of revolutionaries, was greatly influenced by the comradeship in the movement. She make the following assessments on comradeship relations: “Besides Rêber Apo’s philosophy and thought, another thing that draws people to this life is comradeship. It is Rêber Apo who attaches the most importance to the comradeship relationship. Rêber Apo especially fought with the features that the system gave us with deception and lies, and he placed the PKK paradigm in our hearts and brains.”
Adar Amed, who has always been an example to her comrades with her devotion to the Chairman and martyrs, her steady march for revolution, love for freedom and determination to struggle, was ready to face the invading enemy once again in the lands where she opened her eyes to the world.
Adar Amed, the comrade of Berîtan Şemzînan, Devrim and Nûman Amed, knows who to follow in her life and who to follow. Adar believes in these heroes who represent the real line for Amed. To avenge them and hundreds of other martyred comrades, she once again went to the hot fields of struggle. As the YJA Star commander, Adar Amed, who assumed an important role and mission at the level of the regional command in Amed province for 4 years, sacrificed everything by working day and night to be worthy of Chairman and the martyrs.
Adar Amed, one of the valiant YJA-Star commanders who symbolized Amed, joined the caravan of martyrs with her comrades Dicle Sêrt and Diren Wan as a result of the Turkish state’s attack on the Tigris region on September 20, 2020.
