BEHDINAN – On August 15, 20 young women joined the guerrilla ranks with enthusiasm and morale and reached the free mountains, their areas of resistance and honor. Vejin Faraşin, Mizgin Manbiç and Ararat Tolhildan, among these 20 young women, told our agency about their participation goals and objectives. All three young women called on their friends and all young women of Kurdistan and youth in general.
Vejîn Faraşîn: As the young women of Rojava Kurdistan, we must be worthy of the saying ‘Young people are the bodyguards of Leader APO’. Vejin Faraşin is one of 20 young women who joined the guerrilla movement and reached the mountains of freedom on the day of the Breakthrough on August 15. Vejin Faraşin explained the reasons for joining our agency.
“As the young women of Rojava, we will always struggle.”
“First of all, my name is Vêjin Faraşin. I am from Kobani. The reason why I joined the guerrilla movement is that, as you know, I haven’t received any information from Önder APO for the last two years. The invading Turkish State’s attacks on Kurdistan are increasing day by day. As young women from Rojava, we will always fight for women’s freedom and the physical freedom of Leader APO. There is only one way we can respond to the invading Turkish State, and that is the way of being a guerrilla.”
“I will avenge all martyrs with the Martyr Vêjin Jiyan weapon”
Vejin Faraşin, who took the name of Martyr Vejin, who was martyred on August 7, said the following on the subject: “There has been a martyrdom in the last days. I wanted to take Martyr Vejin Jiyan’s name, I raised his weapon. I got strength from that martyrdom. I want to avenge all martyrs with the Martyr Vejin weapon.
We will protect the work of Leader APO! We are Rêber APO youth. Leader says ‘We started young, we will win young’ and we, as the young women of Rojava Kurdistan, will uphold this promise. Leader APO gave a great fight for women’s rights. She did a lot of work to ensure women’s freedom and liberate women. We, as young women, promise that we will take care of this work and struggle. We went to the free mountains to live a free and dignified life. We will always follow our martyrs, we will always follow the path of martyrs. We will follow the footsteps of Zilan, Sara, Rûken and Vejin. We will always follow their footsteps and avenge them and theirs.”
“Go to the mountains and follow your martyred friends.”
Regarding the 15th August Breakthrough day, Comrade Vejin called all young men and women from all four parts of Kurdistan and said: “As a young woman, I greet the 39th anniversary of August 15th. I call out to all the young women of the four parts of Kurdistan: ‘Come and join the Leader’ I say. Let’s choose the right path, We call out to all young men and women, let them climb the mountains of freedom and follow their martyrs. Let’s live a free and honorable life on the right path. All young women should choose this path, for women’s freedom and for Leader APO’s physical freedom. We will liberate women with the slogan ‘Jin Jiyan Azadi’. Long live Leader APO.”
“Thanks to Leader APO and mountain guerrillas, the situation of women in society is changing”
Mizgin Manbij joined the guerrilla ranks as an Arab woman and an internationalist friend. Comrade Mizgin gave information to our agency about the “day of liberation of Manbij” and said:
“Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s philosophy saved me”
“My name is Mizgin, I am an Arab woman. Today is the day Manbij was liberated from ISIS gangs. Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s philosophy saved me. I joined the guerrilla movement for every woman. For Syrian women, Arab and Assyrian women.”
“There is progress and change thanks to Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s thought and philosophy”
Mizgin talked about the pressure and torture women are subjected to in this regard and said: “They harm the brain and spirit of women. In some tribes and villages, children’s heads are cut off. To this day, young girls are married and raped at an early age. There is violence against women. But thanks to Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s ideas and philosophy, thanks to the guerrilla comrades in the mountains, there is change and progress.”
“My personality changed after joining”
Mizgin said the following about her personality change after joining: “I feel like a free woman who knows how to analyze the past and present and sees how my personality has changed over time in the mountains of Kurdistan. Arab, Syrian, Assyrian and Shengal women should not remain under control and captivity. I have a message for every Arab, Syrian, Syriac woman and Shengal women. Join the guerrilla ranks, join the PKK ranks, come to the mountains of freedom and get to know your personality, dreams and goals. Do not remain under control and captivity.”
Ararat Tolhildan: Let’s all come out of the darkness to the light, and the light is Leadership.
Ararat Tolhildan was born in the Afrin region and joined the gue
rrilla movement on August 15 with feelings of revenge against the Afrin occupation. Ararat has just arrived in the free mountains and this is a source of great happiness for him.
“I want to avenge the martyrs and Afrin”
Talking about his participation in our agency, Ararat Tolhildan expressed her views as follows: “My name is Ararat Tolhildan. I am from Afrin. Today I joined the guerrilla movement. I’m walking towards the free mountains. My aim and goal is to avenge the martyrs. I avenge Afrin.”
“We came to the free mountains and this is a place of happiness for us”
“Today we are in the mountains, today we are very happy. We have reached the free mountains. Guerrilla life is really beautiful. Guerrilla marching, singing, drinking tea together, the spirit of comradeship… These were the things that impressed me. I was impressed by the braids of a free woman..”
“Let’s liberate the leadership, Afrin and all occupied cities.”
“Today I promised to join the guerrilla movement. I will resist until the end. The leadership has been in prison for 25 years. The Leader is intellectually and spiritually free, but physically we will take the Leader out of prison. There is war in Afrin today. There is torture. Rapes happen. Blood is spilled every day. Let’s unite as Kurds and march towards freedom. Today, as women, let’s liberate Afrin. Let’s join hands and save Afrin and all our occupied cities .”
“Join the guerrilla ranks because the right path is the place of the Leader”
“Finally, I appeal to all young people: All young fellows must join the guerrilla movement. Today the woman is oppressed, but you must take the right path, get out of the dark into the light. That is the bright Leadership. I want all my friends to join the guerrilla movement. Because we will be freed from slavery. Be on the right path to freedom. Because the Leader has done everything for us, for women to walk the path of freedom. Today, the Leader always thinks about us, the situation of women, even in prison. We call on all young people to join the guerrilla movement. These are the ones I will specify.
Finally, I want to sing a song for my friends.”
