“The genocidal colonialist Turkish state has launched extensive and continuous occupation operations in Garzan since July. Our comrades gave historical answers to the invaders by displaying a self-sacrificing resistance against these attacks, which the Turkish army developed completely based on technique, used all kinds of war techniques and constantly bombarded the area. On August 11, our comrade Bêrîtan Sîser fought until her last breath and reached martyrdom in the face of enemy attacks and violent clashes.
From the moment he joined the ranks of the Party, our fedai comrade Bêrîtan has made important developments in his personality by dedicating himself to the Rêber Apo philosophy with his concise personality. Our comrade Bêrîtan, who made himself ideologically and militarily competent, succeeded in becoming a leading YJA Star commander. Our comrade, who took the sacrifice as a way of life, became one of the most outstanding examples of the Apoist sacrifice by fully applying the line of sacrifice in the war.
We express our condolences to all patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the valuable family of our valiant woman, our self-sacrificing comrade Bêrîtan Sîser, and we repeat our promise that we will carry our freedom struggle handed down to us by all our martyrs to victory in the person of our comrade Bêrîtan.

Our city of Sêrt, one of the resistance centers of the Botan area, which played a leading role in the freedom struggle of our people, has a strong tradition that did not give in to the colonialists. Our city of Sêrt, which hosted the glorious 15 August Initiative, has always kept our people’s hope for freedom alive by becoming the center of the guerrilla resistance that developed under the leadership of the PKK in Kurdistan. Our comrade Bêrîtan, who was born in a family belonging to the Didêrî tribe, which is dominated by patriotic feelings and firmly adheres to the tradition of resistance, grew up in this strong serhildan tradition. Our comrade Bêrîtan, who grew up intertwined with mountain life in the bosom of our Koçer people, who was little affected by the capitalist system in Kurdistan, possessed the simple human reality, simplicity and honesty of the Koçers.
The guerrilla struggle, which has become an epic by word of mouth, also attracted the attention of our comrade Bêrîtan, and his meeting with the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla for the first time had a great impact on our comrade. Rêber Apo has always had a special place for our comrade Bêrîtan and wanted to learn everything about her by researching and asking. Our comrade Bêrîtan, who established her first ties to the struggle with the Leader and the guerrilla, decided to join the guerrilla at an early age and waits for the conditions to develop for this. One day, our comrade Bêrîtan, who dreams of the Leadership, saw this dream as a call for herself and joins the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in 2013 without hesitation.
Our comrade Bêrîtan did not find it difficult to adapt to the mountain life with which she is familiar, and the semi-guerrilla characteristics of the coaching life enabled her to quickly integrate with the guerrilla life. Our comrade, who took the name of our comrade Martyr Bêrîtan (Gülnaz Karataş) and took over the fighting flag of Martyr Bêrîtan herself, remained loyal to the line of martyrs until the day she was martyred. Although our comrade Bêrîtan never went to the system schools, she made an extraordinary progress in the PKK ranks and left all her comrades in amazement. Our comrade, who learned to read and write quickly, started to write her own reports in a short time, specialized in many different fields and caught a great depth in the ideological field. Her desire to learn more has made her knowledgeable in many fields and she has gained great experience by practicing what she has learned. Our comrade Bêrîtan, who developed within the ranks of the PKK, re-created itself and became the representative of the militancy that surpasses itself day by day; With her determination and desire to learn, she set an example for all her comrades. Approaching the leadership’s defenses as if it were a piece of her own life; She carried it with her wherever she went, in her bag, in her pocket. The first guerrilla practice in Garzan paved the way for our comrade to turn into a qualified guerrilla. Our comrade, who never gave up in the face of difficulties, knew how to develop the power and will to solve every problem, and effectively implemented his pioneering mission as a female guerrilla. our comrade Bêrîtan, who re-created herself and became the representative of the militancy that surpasses itself day by day; With her determination and desire to learn, she set an example for all her comrades. Our comrade, who moved to the Metîna field after her successful practice in Garzan, further deepened the guerrilla experience he gained in Bakurê Kurdistan. Our comrade, who moved to the Zap area in 2015, when the colonialist Turkish state’s attacks against the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, the will of our people, began, took her place in the front line and fought selflessly. After the practices she carried out and saw, she went to the academy in order to show a stronger stance with a deeper and stronger concentration on the line of women’s freedom, to respond to the needs of the period and to deepen in the philosophy of Rêber Apo. Our comrade, who was included in the training at the Martyr Bêrîtan Academy, went back to the practical field after successfully completing the training process. Deepening in the truth of Leadership and martyrs in April 2018, she joined Hêzên Taybet in order to be more ready for all the duties of the organization, to liberate Rêber Apo physically and to avenge the crimes committed against our people, and his fighting and searching personality enabled him to make strong breakthroughs. The martyrdom of Martyr Delal Amed, our leading commander in Botan, had a profound effect on our comrade, laid the groundwork for her deepening in sacrifice, and based herself on the sacrifice line of Comrade Zîlan at every moment of her life. The practice and participation of our comrade, whose concentration is always on sacrifice, has always created strength, morale and excitement.
She left a mark on his comrades wherever she went and stayed, stayed away from the dirt of capitalist modernity, and always attracted attention with her natural personality. Comrade Bêrîtan, who never compromises on her self-discipline, she always kept strong her claim to go to Bakur, which she set as her goal, and always knew how to reach this goal by not giving up on her decision. On the one hand, the desire to go to Bakurê Kurdistan and on the other hand, to carry out guerrilla activities with a strong style has never diminished. Wherever she went, she became a well-known and known friend with her uncountable participation. She always took the phrase “forgetting is treason” as a basis for herself, and never betrayed her childhood dreams in any way. As a strong, professional, belligerent and courageous guerrilla, she walked the lines of PKK and PAJK without hesitation and became a leading YJA Star commander. She has been a self-improving and educating comrade and has always trained her comrade with herself. She lived every moment to the fullest without compromising the dimensions of the place she was in and gave meaning to all her memories. The pleasure and happiness she received from nature made her more attached to life and surrounded himself with all the beauties of nature. No matter how difficult the living conditions were.
Comrade Bêrîtan loved the free life more, became more attached and embraced it with a deep passion. She took responsibility and took responsibility for life without any limits. Her life stance, lifestyle and approach to life have been an indicator of this. Impossibilities could not intimidate Comrade Bêrîtan. Because with her creative personality, she created the non-existent and turned it into an opportunity. The qibla of our comrade Bêrîtan, who walks along the lines of the Fedai, has always been Bakure Kurdistan and the historical guerrilla resistance carried out there. Our comrade, whose proposal was accepted as a result of her intense insistence, returned to the Garzan area, where he was born and grew up in 2021, where she carried out her first guerrilla practice, as a pioneer YJA Star bouncer who took command. Our comrade, who resisted and fought selflessly against the attacks of the invading Turkish army, took part in many actions and dealt heavy blows to the invaders. Our comrade Bêrîtan’s sincere comradeship, her life and her embrace of her comrades have been an indicator of a militant stance and he has strongly reflected this in her practice.
The memory of our comrade Bêrîtan, who fought and lived devotedly in the footsteps of Martyr Bêrîtan and Martyr Zîlan by embodying the line of free women in his person, will always illuminate our path and will certainly be carried to victory by our comrades left behind.”
