Our comrade Gulbahar was born in the Hîzan district of Bedlîs, in a patriotic and Kurdish family. Our comrade, who grew up in a large family, shaped her personality with her family upbringing and morals. At the same time, she grew up knowing her language and culture due to her family, whose Kurdish characteristics were at the forefront. The family of our comrade Gulbahar was exposed to enemy pressure since the 1980s and 90s, and this led to the emergence of a stance against the enemy in the family. For this reason, this precious family of ours has embraced the values that created them, protected them and succeeded in transferring them to new generations. Our comrade Gulbahar, who grew up in such a valuable family environment, undoubtedly took a significant share of these values. But our comrade has always been questioning about some mentality patterns that exist in the general society. In particular, the position of women in society and the slavery status she lived in attracted the attention of our comrade Gulbahar since she was very young, so it caused some contradictions. The wise word “Jin dara sikestî ye”, which her mother, who was her first teacher, spoke during a conversation based on years of experience, caused the contradictions of our comrade Gulbahar to deepen. Our comrade Gulbahar, who never forgot the bitter reality that her mother had expressed, made this statement the main reason for struggle for himself. Our comrade Gulbahar, who never accepted the social role imposed on women, always struggled with these understandings. However, the fact that her struggle remained individual and, as a result, hit the walls of the male-dominated mentality, caused our comrade Gulbahar to go on different quests. Our comrade Gulbahar, who struggled to find the answer to these quests and contradictions in Amed, where she went to university, met the revolutionary patriotic youth here. Our comrade Gulbahar, whose main contradiction in life is the inequality between men and women and the determination of women’s lives by men, started to get answers to these contradictions from the discussions she conducted here, thanks to the Apoist youth she met. As she read our Leader’s analyzes and defenses on women’s liberation, she resolved the existing contradictions and turned them into justifications for struggle. Our comrade, who finally found the alternative to a free life as a woman with our Leader, got involved in the works with great love. Our comrade Gulbahar, who struggled more as she read and improved herself, had the opportunity to develop the awareness of Kurdishness even more. Our comrade, who realized that the enemy has developed a holistic attack against our people and that as a result, wants to carry out a genocide on our people, thought that the struggle should be carried out in an integrated manner. On this basis, in 2009, our comrade Gulbahar left the university she attended as a young Kurdish woman who was thirsty for freedom in her 3rd year, turned her face to the mountains of Kurdistan and joined the guerrilla ranks.
The joining of our comrade Gulbahar to the guerrilla ranks had a great impact on her family and enabled her other brothers to join the ranks of the struggle. In this respect, she succeeded in becoming a pioneer from the very beginning of her revolutionary life. Our comrade, who received her first training in the guerrilla in the Garê area, later moved to the Qendil area. Our comrade, who practiced here for a while, learned all the intricacies of guerrilla life with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm. Thanks to her high self-confidence, she became a quick learner and a teacher despite being new to the guerrilla. Our comrade Gulbahar, who overcame the difficulties of guerrilla life with desire, dedication and focus on purpose, expressed the truth of guerrilla life very clearly, expressing that the real difficulties are the boundaries drawn by people. Our comrade Gulbahar, who attracted the attention of her comrades with her willing participation in the field of Qendil, succeeded in reassuring her comrades. Returning as a freedom fighter to the Garzan area where she was born and raised in 2012, when our Revolutionary People’s War gained momentum, our comrade Gulbahar wanted to be an answer by constantly increasing her participation here. Comrade Gulbahar, who is a radical and unyielding defender of the sacred PKK life entrusted to us by our martyrs, has gone through an important organizational struggle. Later, she had to immigrate to Istanbul with her family in 2007 and continued her life in metropolises. However, our comrade Eylem could not get used to the metropolis or the life of capitalist modernity. She constantly felt that she was not a person of that world, but that she needed to return to the land and life to which she belonged. With this feeling and consciousness, it managed to protect itself from the effects of capitalist modernity that individualized people, detached them from moral-political society values and corrupted them. Our comrade Eylem, who decided to participate in the free women’s truth and self-sacrifice, took part in patriotic revolutionary youth and free women’s activities from 2011 to 2013. However, no matter how effective and efficient she was, she always saw herself as inadequate. Our comrade in action always saw himself as belonging to the guerrilla and sought her aspirations, dreams and free life in the guerrilla. For this reason, she aimed to reach the guerrilla mountains with great love and longing. Influenced by the splendor of the free women’s army in particular, she focused on becoming one of the free women guerrillas. On this basis she joined the guerrilla ranks in 2013.
Our comrade Eylem, who has a great love of being a guerrilla in her heart, had no difficulty when she joined the guerrilla. She adapted early. By saying “If my life is to be one day, it must be in the mountains and free”, she based her life on living by giving great meaning to every moment and day of guerrilla life. She never lived ordinarily in the free mountains, in the Apoist movement, and did not accept ordinary participation and militancy. When a guerrilla was martyred, she saw the invincibility of the dialectic of struggle, in which thousands took her name and participated. In order to continue this dialectic, she took the name of Comrade Eylem, whom she knew well and stayed with. As she joined the guerrilla, she aimed to cross into Hêzên Taybet and walk the line of sacrifice. By approaching the sacrifice in the most correct way, she tried to do justice to this sacred life she chose with her free will. She participated by always keeping her will and determination ready to do self-sacrifice, living fearlessly and always being on the alert against the enemy. With this spirit and participation style, she took part in important tasks in different fields of struggle and fulfilled all her responsibilities with great success. One of the heroes who played a role, worked and left her mark in the successes revealed in our recent history of struggle, but whose name is unknown, was our comrade Eylem Eylem.
Our comrade Eylem, who wants to continue the Apoist sacrifice march and struggle in Bakurê Kurdistan, has always developed suggestions for fighting at the front. When her proposal was accepted in 2020, she moved to the province of Mêrdîn. She never forgot the persecution, massacres, and brutal massacres of our innocent people in Nisêbîn in 2015 and 2016, and marched to Mêrdîn to avenge them all.
