“It has become clear that our comrade Ulaş Pîr, who broke away from his group during a heavy snowfall and a foggy night walk while he was on duty in the Cîlo area in the winter of 2010, reached martyrdom. Our comrade Ulaş, who was introduced to the Rêber Apo philosophy and opted for freedom by making an ideological participation in our party PKK, succeeded in becoming a self-sacrificing militant with his strong personality and honest participation. Our comrade Ulaş, who is always committed to the reality of Leader Apo and martyrs by enlarging his struggle that he carries out breathlessly; With his dervish life and sincere comradeship, he has always been an exemplary militant.
We express our condolences to all our patriotic Koçgirî people, especially to the valuable family of our comrade Ulaş Pîr, and we will definitely realize the longings and dreams of our martyrs.

Rêber Apo’s philosophy of life and struggle, who brought a dying people from the edge of the abyss and re-created them in the grip of the genocide, went beyond the borders of Kurdistan and became the hope of a free future for all the oppressed in the Middle East and the world. Our struggle, aiming for the free future of all peoples on an international line since the day it was founded, has always raised the legacy of the struggle of Haki Karer and Kemal Pirs. Our party PKK, which was founded in memory of our comrade Haki, whom Rêber Apo called “he was like my secret soul”, added hundreds of revolutionaries from different nations to its ranks and strengthened and expanded its internationalist line.
Our comrade Ulaş was born to a Kurdish mother and a Turkmen father, in a democratic family originally from Sêwas who had to migrate from Turkey’s metropolises to Ankara due to financial difficulties. In Koçgirî, where the first fire of struggle was lit against the policy of the denial Turkish state that ignores the Kurdish existence, the tradition of resistance created by our people, who did not bow to oppression, remained alive in our comrade’s family memory. Although he grew up far from Kurdistan, the Kurdish-Alevi culture he received from his mother has always been decisive on the life of our comrade Ulaş, and the negative attitudes he was exposed to due to his Kurdish and Alevi identity caused our comrade to enter into contradictions with the system. Our comrade, who sees taking a stand against injustice as a necessity of being human, has not remained unanswered against the injustices he has faced, It is based on learning in practice. Our comrade, who improved himself by constantly reading and researching, was interested in leftist movements for a while and took part in the revolutionary struggle since his high school years. In this process, our comrade, who recognized the reality of the enemy in the concrete context of the fascist Turkish state, believed that the peoples should respond to the chauvinist attacks with a common resistance against fascism and gave a great effort in this context. Our comrade, who graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Gazi University, worked as an accountant for two years and brought to consciousness the fact that no results can be obtained by struggling within the system in this process. Our comrade, who has always been very curious about the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, which he has been following closely, When he read Rêber Apo’s books and analyzes, he was very impressed and decided to get to know our struggle better in practice. Comrade Ulaş, who was involved in youth work, was attacked many times by the colonialist Turkish state, detained 5 times and remained in colonial dungeons for 4 months. Our comrade Ulaş, who did not give in despite all the attacks, participated in more studies with great will power each time. Our comrade, who brought the level of decision-making to the highest level in the dungeon process, joined the ranks of the freedom guerrilla in 2007 and brought his struggle to the top in the mountains of Kurdistan. Our comrade Ulaş, following the tradition of struggle of Haki Karer and Kemal Pirs by making an ideological contribution to Rêber Apo’s new philosophy of life, has become integrated with the sacred guerrilla life in the mountains of Kurdistan with his revolutionary-militant personality. Our comrade, who won the respect and love of his comrades with his hardworking and humble personality, recreated himself in the mountains of Kurdistan. Our comrade, who became competent with the basic guerrilla training he received, quickly adapted to the difficult guerrilla conditions with his fighting spirit, and succeeded in having a strong participation by overcoming all the problems he faced. Integrating his knowledge with Rêber Apo’s philosophy, our comrade has reached a great depth and has made it his main goal to put these concentrations into practice. Comrade Ulaş, who is a militant of the common life in the line of Democratic Modernity developed by Rêber Apo in a geography where peoples are wanted to be turned against each other, has struggled relentlessly with his working personality. Our comrade, who successfully fulfilled the responsibilities required by the period by staying in many fields and studies, has always been in focus to participate more. Our comrade Ulaş, who is very impressed by the strong comradeship relations that reflect the essence of the PKK, and who strives to further develop this sacred bond, has become one with the truth in the ranks of the PKK. Our comrade Ulaş, a self-sacrificing militant of Rêber Apo’s freedom march, has always been in competition with himself, overcoming the negativities created by the system in his personality and leading the ranks of the struggle.
Our comrade, who worked with all his might to complete his revolutionary missions with great success, joined Hêzên Taybet with the aim of ensuring the physical freedom of Rêber Apo, serving more and realizing the dream of a free future of our immortal martyrs. Our comrade, who constantly strives to deepen in the military and ideological field and specializes in many different fields in a short time, has had a strong participation by advancing on the path of the Fedayeen. Comrade Ulaş, who lived and participated in militantly throughout his revolutionary life, moved to the Zagros after his successful practice in the Garê and Heftanîn areas. Our comrade, who took his place at the forefront of the historical resistance against the colonial Turkish army, took his place at the leading level in many actions in the Cîlo area that dealt heavy blows to the invaders.
Our comrade Ulaş, who managed to become a loyal militant of Rêber Apo by walking in the footsteps of our immortal bodyguards without hesitation, left a great legacy of struggle and reached martyrdom. As his comrades, we will have a struggle worthy of the memory of all our martyrs in the person of our comrade Ulaş.”
