Karayılan said, “The greatest power is the people themselves; we are ourselves! Every patriot should believe this. Kurdistan is not liberated by elections. Of course, it is also a tactical method, but the real freedom comes with the power of the people, the mobilization of the people, the Revolutionary People’s War and all kinds of political-social struggles and democratic nation struggles. Everyone needs to run this. If this is carried out, we believe that the 40th year will be a great year”.

“First of all, we congratulate you on the Resurrection Day. Celebrating the 39th anniversary of the 15 August Initiative on behalf of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas to Rêber Apo; We offer our greetings, respect and commitment. We congratulate the Resurrection Day to all the people of Kurdistan, the peoples of the region, the progressive humanity, all workers, cadres, fighters and freedom guerrillas.
We commemorate all our martyrs of the revolution in the person of the immortal commander Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz) and sacrifice Zîlan (Zeynep Kınacı), bow respectfully before their memories, and repeat our promise to our martyrs once again. We will stick to the line of our martyrs; We will keep their memories alive by raising the freedom struggle.
The August 15 Initiative was a movement for existence and freedom against the policy of massacre and genocide. The August 15 Leap Forward developed a renaissance in Kurdistan; created the intellectual revolution. On this basis, he developed the social revolution, the women’s revolution, the political revolution and created a new society in Kurdistan. We, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas, have been fighting to protect the Kurdish people and values of democracy for 39 years. In 39 years, heroic epics were written. Especially in the last 8 years, the Turkish state has launched a comprehensive attack against our people and our movement in order to eliminate the gains of our people and to achieve the genocide policy. He carried out the policy of genocide on the basis of the Imrali system throughout Kurdistan. Against this, first of all, besides the meaningful-historical resistance of Rêber Apo, Kurdish politics, Turkish democratic-socialist movements, The resistance of our comrades in the dungeons and our people in the streets developed. But it is known that the Turkish state carried out its most extensive attacks against the guerrilla. On the basis of the technology of the period, very comprehensive attacks were developed against the forces of Bakurê Kurdistan, Rojavayê Kurdistan, Shengal and Rojhilatê Kurdistan. There have been great and historical resistances against these attacks of the enemy in the past 8 years. The followers of Comrade Commander Egîd and the comrades of Commander Fazıl Botan led a resistance. We commemorate all the martyrs of this epic resistance in the person of Azad Sîser, Delal Amed, Atakan Mahir, Zeki Şengalî, Doğan Sîpan, Çetin Siverek, Çiçek Botan, Yılmaz Dersim and the esteemed commander Leyla Sorxwîn. They created a historical epic. The Turkish state carried out its most extensive attacks against the guerrilla. On the basis of the technology of the period, very comprehensive attacks were developed against the forces of Bakurê Kurdistan, Rojavayê Kurdistan, Shengal and Rojhilatê Kurdistan.

Especially in the last 3 years, the enemy launched extensive attacks first on Garê and then on Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn in order to completely eliminate the Medya Defense Zones and to liquidate the gains of the Kurdish people on this basis. In fact, it launched an attack on all Bashure Kurdistan lands. The resistance that developed here, especially in the center of Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna, is a new page in the history of our people and our movement. For the first time, Kurdish forces and Kurdish resistance fighters stood against the Turkish invasion at the same position for 3 years and continue to resist. This is a source of honor and pride for all Kurds. The resistance carried out is not only against tens of thousands of soldiers. In this war, all technologies of the period, especially air technology, are used. At the same time, this treacherous and cowardly enemy also used prohibited weapons such as tactical nuclear and chemical against our forces. Despite all this, the ongoing resistance has also opened a new page in the art of war. In other words, it was a great example of how a small, conscious, tactical and strong-willed force can resist and get results against a large army with all kinds of possibilities.
Undoubtedly, we paid a great price in this resistance. It happened with the efforts of valuable commanders, self-sacrificing militants and the children of this people, not easily! We commemorate all our martyrs in the person of Şoreş, Cumali, Çavrê, Bager, Avzem, Delîl, Nalîn, Nûrî and Mizgîn. We will follow them. They paved our way. They developed tactical expansion. They clarified the certainty of this resistance with their resistance and labor. On this basis, despite the support of foreign powers and the support of the Kurdish collaborationist line, the Turkish state could not win. The results of the last 3 years are in sight. The war is still going on there. It is clear that the enemy is blocked in their attack. The Turkish state is in a helpless situation against the resistance of the Apoist militants. In fact, the Turkish state declared its victory in the 100th anniversary of the Republic, thus, he wanted to make the genocide policy dominant in Kurdistan and especially to take Syria and Iraq under his protection. This was the Turkish state’s plan, but it did not materialise.
The 100th anniversary of the Republic is approaching. The Turkish state is already making plans; sets its strategy for the second century. It is very interesting that in this new plan, they again determined the genocide on Kurdistan as the first line. In other words, it is clear that this AKP-MHK-Ergenekon state wants to establish itself on Kurdish blood, above the destruction of the Kurdish people. The nationalist, chauvinist policy on this Union and Progress line is not only a danger to the Kurdish people, but also for the people of the region. The Turkish state wants to crush the will of the Arab people and the people of the region by occupying the borders of the National Pact and establishing protection over Syria and Iraq. This is a great danger for our people and all the peoples of the region. In the face of this, we must organize as a people and establish a national unity. But on the basis of the Kurdish-Arab alliance, all the peoples of the region, all socialist-democratic movements should not remain silent in the face of this wave of fascism, they should unite and develop the struggle for democracy and freedom. This is the revolutionary task that should not be postponed in this period. This duty must be fulfilled in an indispensable way.
Dear people;
The isolation on Rêber Apo comes into play in Kurdistan as a policy of genocide, and in Turkey as the isolation on Turkey’s freedom and democracy. If we do not break the isolation by making a comprehensive move against the isolation policy, democracy and freedom will not come to Turkey and the region. We need to know this truth.
Now some democratic institutions, human rights institutions and European trade unions have declared a campaign for Leader Apo’s freedom. This is something very valuable. Hail to British workers and trade unions! Greetings to the unions and democracy forces in various European countries who support the campaign! Hail to the progressive, democratic movements in Latin America and South Africa! Greetings to all our people living in Europe and abroad and playing a role in the struggle. As Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas, we make a promise every year to protect our people, our country and our people’s rights everywhere. We are committed to this promise, and now we repeat it. We have fulfilled the promise we have made so far, even at the cost of our lives. As the militants of Rêber Apo, we do not break our word, we keep our promise. This is how we learned. We are now entering our 40th year. On the basis of the philosophy of Rêber Apo for 39 years and with the experience of 39 years, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla has reached a level today. Especially on the basis of the restructuring project, the guerrilla’s performance in developing innovation, tactical expansion and depth, and technical dominance is stronger today. This also appears in practice. The guerrilla has proven to be an invincible force. But the enemy persists. Guerrilla today, With the level it has captured, it will protect this people from above ground, underground and from the air according to its possibilities, and will resist the enemy. The enemy also needs to know; they cannot do that. Although some Kurds are with them, they will not be able to destroy us as a people, as a Movement! The Turkish state should abandon this genocidal policy. He should not send his soldiers to attack and attack our friends’ positions. If those soldiers die when they attack and come upon our friends’ positions, we are not responsible for it. Responsible are those who gave instructions to those soldiers. All Turkish people should know this. We are fighting a defensive war. We did not attack anyone. Turkish officials should know that they cannot achieve results with the policy of genocide and death. Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla will once again prove its invincibility in its 40th year, will reach the level of the victorious guerrilla. That’s the target.

The guerrilla will play its role in the new period, in its 40th year. A ground has been formed with the efforts of Leader Apo and the sacrifices of our martyrs. The guerrilla will play its role on this basis. But we are in an important period. The line we have to move on is the Revolutionary People’s War line. In this important period, our people should also take care of their duties. All patriots, especially women and youth, should see themselves as officials, play a role and organize. They should develop popular serhildans in a wave form, as at the beginning of the resurrection revolution. Our call to our people in this regard is this: Ensure your unity. True, national unity is necessary for all four parts. However, each part must ensure its unity within itself, establish its organization and not remain silent in the face of the enemy’s practices and protect itself. Enemy Kurdish women, It carries out attacks on Kurdish youth with various methods. We must respond to them in an organized manner. In this way, we can strengthen the Revolutionary People’s War, reverse the enemy’s attacks, and pave the way for the freedom of Rêber Apo and Kurdistan. We have to believe this. On this basis, we must know that we are strength and will. The greatest power is the people themselves, we are ourselves! Every patriot should believe this. Kurdistan is not liberated by elections. Of course, it is also a tactical method, but the real freedom comes with the power of the people, the mobilization of the people, the Revolutionary People’s War and all kinds of political-social struggles and democratic nation struggles.
