BEHDİNAN- PKK Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan, speaking in a special program broadcast on Sterk TV, evaluated the Zap-based resistance against the invasion attacks. Karayılan stated that the guerrilla warfare was carried out with the active defense method and said that the Turkish state hid its losses.
Karayılan stated that there was also a serious resistance in Bakure Kurdistan and that the Turkish state applied a great deal of censorship on this resistance, adding, “The wars of Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn have come to the fore in recent years. It was the same in Rojava before. But mainly for the last 8 years, the war in Bakure Kurdistan has been going on without a break. The public cannot follow too much because the Turkish state imposes censorship very strictly. They only give when we have losses, they do not give at all if there is no loss.”
Expressing that the war in Zap was unbalanced and the guerrilla’s will is great despite the scarcity of opportunities, Karayılan said, “However, those with few opportunities have great willpower, intelligence, self-sacrifice, and they are right in their cause. In this respect, our side also weighs heavily. Therefore, we say ‘we will be the winners in the end’. This is the case now, and it’s on its way to success. Our people should know; There are great strongholds of resistance, and the war and resistance shown there will take their place with golden letters in Kurdish history. Because it is nothing out of the ordinary; It is something extraordinary, important and historical. This is how it continues now and it will win,” he said.

Leader Apo has been kept in aggravated absolute isolation for 29 months. What would you like to point out about this?
As it is known, the anniversary of August 15 is approaching. Leader Apo and his fellow prisoners were the ones who contributed the most in the realization of 15 August. I congratulate the Resurrection Day to all comrades who were captured by the enemy, especially Leader Apo. I hope that the struggle for freedom will be successful on the basis of the August 15 line. And I wish it to be a conducive to freedom and democracy for all prisoners.
No one has heard of a dungeon in Turkey for 29 months. In this period when telecommunications developed, the world became a small village and everyone knew about each other, no one in Turkey knew about a dungeon. This is not normal, it is an extraordinary situation. Let’s leave the law and the law aside; all human, moral and social standards are violated. His family, relatives, no one knows about him.
Isolation IS A DECISION TO MAKE THE KURDISH PEOPLE GENOCIDE
Leader Apo is not an ordinary person. He is the leader of the Kurdish people. The Turkish state has accepted this before and held talks on this basis. How many times has our people signed a petition? Previously, 10 millions were collected and handed over to international powers under notary supervision in Brussels. Most recently, in Rojava Kurdistan, if I’m not mistaken, about 3 million signatures were collected and handed over to international institutions. In other words, he is the leader of the Kurdish people; He is the leader of Democratic Modernity. The peoples of the region, rather than the Kurdish people, see the solution to their problems in Leader Apo. He is a person who has views at the level of a philosopher and has a paradigm. So he is not an ordinary person. But the Turkish state persistently carries out isolation, isolation and psychological torture. This is planned, planned execution. It is a decision. What decision is it? It is the decision to destroy the will of the Kurdish people and to carry out the genocide of the Kurdish people.
If the state did not have such a decision and if the state wanted to live peacefully together with the Kurds, the best option for them would be Leader Apo. They know this too well. Leader Apo can be the solution power in this matter. Well, why don’t they resort to such a method, but they extraordinaryly trample on all measures of law, law and morality, and in this way, they carry out a policy towards Leader Apo and his three friends over Imrali. Because this state follows the concept of destroying the will of the Kurdish people. The Turkish state does not want anything to remain in the name of the Kurds. That’s why he doesn’t want to live with Kurds with an identity. But he wants to live with those who accept slavery. He doesn’t even want to hear the name of the Kurd. This is the concept followed by AKP-MHP-Ergenekon.
This attitude is against the Kurdish people, against the existence of the Kurdish people. Our people need to know this and develop a struggle against this attitude accordingly. In other words, every member of our people should know that this policy carried out by the Turkish state in İmralı is directed towards them. This policy is dangerous and aims to destroy. As long as this policy is in place, the danger of annihilation of the Kurdish people will be on the agenda. Our people need to see this and act accordingly.
SERHILDAN WE MUST START THE PROCESS
Of course, this can be overcome. We must carry out a popular struggle with broad participation and break this policy. We must show them that this policy will not yield results. They cannot win; They cannot make the Kurdish people weak; They cannot destroy the Kurdish people; They cannot dominate the policy of genocide in Kurdistan. We have to show it in every way possible. For this, we need to organize, start actions, and start the serhildan process. This is necessary. If our people show up in mass, if they show their will not only with their signatures but also with their attitudes, then the enemy can step back and this isolation policy can be broken.
On the other hand, as long as this policy exists, law and democracy cannot develop in Turkey. The real democrats of Turkey should see this. How will that state develop democracy as long as there is isolation, lawlessness, and trampling on all measures? How will democracy give the opportunity? This lawlessness paves the way for all lawlessness. In other words, the isolation is directed towards the entire Kurdish people and Türkiye’s democracy. It is about the future of the people. That’s why Turkey’s true democrats need to oppose the isolation. Those who want democracy in Turkish politics, the real intellectuals of Turkey who want democracy, may object. We saw; As a truly courageous person, Mr. Merdan Yanardag uttered a few words; The AKP-MHP fascist regime was immediately arrested and imprisoned. However, he is well-known; is the editor-in-chief of a television; He is a Turkish intellectual who wants democracy. And everyone knows that this person is fighting on the basis of Kemalism. But when he said something true there, they immediately grabbed him. In short, they do not want the democrats of Türkiye to raise their voice against this lawlessness. For example, the Kurds say the same thing, they do not immediately arrest them. Because in Kurdistan, Kurds, Kurdish politicians, Kurdish intellectuals, lawyers are already saying these things every day. They all said, “Leader Apo is the will of the Kurdish people, Leader Apo is the head of the Kurdish people, Leader Apo is a political prisoner, Leader Apo has a philosophical level, there is isolation in Turkey, this isolation is unlawful”. Everyone says this every day. It is even said in the Turkish Parliament. But look; They arrested Merdan Yanardag. Because they don’t want those circles to talk about such a thing. They did this as a message to Turkish intellectuals.
THOSE WHO WANT TO STAND AGAINST ILLEGALS SHOULD NOT BE SILENT IN INSULATION
So this is a matter of freedom and democracy; is a matter of humanity. Anyone who wants to protect humanity and stand up against all kinds of unlawfulness should not remain silent in the face of isolation. If our people want to exist, if they want to make the cause of existence absolute and carry on, they must raise their voices against isolation. Because above all, this isolation is against the Kurdish people; not against a person, but against a society. That’s why it’s a matter of struggle. My call is aimed at fighting against the politics of isolation and genocide. But with this we can break the isolation. With a massive and wide struggle, we can break the genocidal policy implemented in Imrali as isolation and perpetuating itself on Kurdistan.
We are on the 39th anniversary of the 15 August Initiative. Before the Resurrection Day, there was a dark period in Kurdistan and it had almost become the center of reaction. What changes did August 15 create in Kurdistan?
First of all, I congratulate the Resurrection Day to all viewers, our people, friends of our people and friends. I commemorate all the martyrs of the Kurdistan revolution in the person of the immortal commander Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz) and the sacrifice Zîlan (Zeynep Kınacı), and I reiterate our promise to them.
The days we are going through are the centennial anniversary of Lausanne. It’s been discussed a lot. Lausanne is a genocide treaty on Kurdistan. That’s how it was stated. It’s true. Within the framework of Lausanne, a systematic policy of genocide was carried out in Kurdistan, especially in Bakur Kurdistan. In the 50th year of Lausanne, in 1973, the Kurdish society was on the verge of death. He was like a patient groaning on his deathbed. Leader Apo’s debut during this period was truly a historic one. Initially, the enemy noticed the work carried out together with the ideological group and the subsequent development of the party, and there were also developments in the general revolutionary movement, and in response, military intervention was made. The Junta of September 12, 1980 came to power in Turkey. Again, he intensified his policy of genocide.
DUNGEON RESISTANCE MADE PRACTICE WITH THE AUGUST 15 JUMP
Against this, first there was a historical resistance in the dungeons, and then the 15th of August Initiative became practical under the leadership of Comrade Egîd. This of course was not easy. Returning from Palestine to the country was not easy back then. Because the Turkish state almost turned Kurdistan into an open prison, it was very difficult. At that time, the cadres of our movement did not know the geography of Kurdistan. For example Botan, Garzan, etc. groups had to go and know many regions and peoples with maps and compass. The challenges were many, but the faith and determination were strong. The groups were small, but their faith was large. With such labor and struggle, this foundation was created. This breakthrough has happened, and many people have taken it in many ways, of course. But it meant many things to the Kurdish people. It was not just an ordinary declaration of armed war, an ordinary-normal revolt. It had many meanings.
First of all, the ideological, political and social side of this breakthrough was ahead. It is true, it also had a military side; it was also carried out with a sacrificial spirit militarily. In one and a half minutes, Eruh Gendarmerie Command Base was conquered. Under the leadership of Erdal and Bedrans, such a strong and self-sacrificing attack spirit was realized. Again, this is how it happened with Ali with Glasses and Zekis (Emin Taştan) in Şemzînan. In other words, it had a military side, but what really stood out was its political side, the message it gave. It was an attempt against Kurdish slavery and thus broke the chain of slavery. Thus, the Kurd, who was in pain on his deathbed, stood up, became stronger and took to the streets. That was Serhildan. This is how serhildans developed in the ’90s. We call it the Resurrection Revolution. So it was life again. This, in turn, created a revolution of thought, created a social revolution, created the ground for the women’s revolution and carried it out. So he created nationality. He played such a historical role in Bakur. When the Halabja massacre occurred in ’88, the peshmerga withdrew in Bashure Kurdistan, and the war stopped. The Kurdish freedom struggle in Rojhilat Kurdistan had entered a phase of decline. So there was a silence. Just in such a period; that is, the rise of the guerrilla in Bakure Kurdistan in ’88-’89-’90-’91 was a light, a light, a hope for the whole of Kurdistan. With that effect, our people of Bashure Kurdistan started the ’91 uprising. So it had such a strong impact at the national level. This, of course, developed with the efforts of Leader Apo and the sacrifices of the martyrs. Just in such a period; that is, the rise of the guerrilla in Bakure Kurdistan in ’88-’89-’90-’91 was a light, a light, a hope for the whole of Kurdistan.
Today, the spirit and line of August 15 is experienced and carried out in all the states of Kurdistan, in Bakur and Zap, and in the Medya Defense Zones, in the person of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla. The enemy has made many attacks so far. When the August 15 Initiative took place, Kenan Evren said, “Whoever did this, our soldiers will leave within 72 hours, they will take them to the court by their ears, no matter what stone they hide under.” Those 72 hours are still going on and Turkish officials say every year, ‘we will finish it this year’. In other words, it has grown and its development today has created ideas at the level of Kurdistan and the world. The idea he created became the basis of the revolutionary spirit, change, transformation and innovation in Kurdistan. The level reached today has been reached thanks to this breakthrough. Therefore, once again, we congratulate all our people, friends of our people and everyone.
Türkiye IMPLEMENTS INTENSIVE CENSE ON THE WAR IN BAKURÊ KURDISTAN
There have been fierce conflicts in Bakurê Kurdistan recently. There were clashes in Dersim, Xîzan and most recently in Nisêbîn. What do you think about the struggle in Bakur in general?
Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn wars have come to the fore in recent years. It was the same in Rojava before. But mainly for the last 8 years, the war in Bakure Kurdistan has been going on without a break. The public cannot follow much; because the Turkish state applies censorship very strictly. They only give when we have losses; If it’s not lost, they don’t give it at all. For example, now in Agirî/Glidax for exactly 2 months, just as the army was always in an operation in the 1930s, now there is an uninterrupted operation in Glidax and there are many contacts. Of course, we don’t always have a connection with the friends there, it happens from time to time. They’re sending something out loud. It is apocalyptic. There is a resistance to enemy attacks. But since we have no losses, the Turkish state does not talk about it. For example, Yaşar Botan, the commander of Dêrsîm since the beginning of the year this year, Şevger and Arjin were martyred by friends, they gave that news. In this end, Heval Şoreş Dîlok and Heval Têkoşer were martyred in Dêrsîm, they gave it up 15 days ago. In other words, they gave martyrdom two times, but there is a permanent operation in Dêrsîm. Many times there is contact. Likewise in Amed. Lastly, Comrade Xemgîn Serhed and a friend were martyred; they gave it. Before that, they gave some friends again. Again in Mêrdîn, the valuable commander Canşêr Rojhilat was martyred along with two of his friends, they gave it that way. In Botan, Leyla Sorxwîn and a group of female friends fought for days. In the war in Besta led by Heval Leyla and Heval Rojbîn Gever, the enemy was dealt many blows. The enemy then only gave the news of the martyrdom of your friends. It is the same in Cîlo; Heval Elîşêr, they were martyred, they gave it up later. Heval Hêjar Zozan and Heval Bager were martyred in a different part of Serhat; they gave it.
So if there is anything that serves their special war propaganda, they give it away. What is their propaganda? They always say ‘we shoot, kill and finish’. How many years Süleyman Soylu; “We’re finishing it this year, we’re finishing it this year,” he said. Well, there have been so many wars this year, conflicts took place in all provinces of Bakure Kurdistan; How many times did the enemy himself give these clashes on the occasion of our martyrs. Finally, for 26 days in Garzan, they almost broke out around Hîzan. Thousands of soldiers, dozens of helicopters, planes, reconnaissance planes, agents, gangs all stepped in. They wanted to besiege and capture, but we saw how those egîds (heroes) fought. There, the resistance and self-sacrifice of comrades Rêdur Sîser and Ardem Ararat is perhaps unique in the world. In other words, in the face of such difficulties, loyalty to the cause is displayed. Finally, they surrounded Heval Rêdur and said ‘surrender’. However, heval Rêdur fought selflessly until his last bullet and was martyred. Undoubtedly, this is something very honorable and valuable. It is equanimity. It is an elevation in altruism. In fact, all Bakur guerrillas are marching on the basis of self-sacrifice and self-sacrifice.
THERE IS A HEROIC WAR IN BAKUR
For example, Bakur is the place where the war is most intense now. Finally, in Nisêbîn, a friend goes there for a mission and the enemy somehow notices and goes after him. The enemy gave his own news, but we got information later. In fact, that friend fights to the end, and in the end, the honor of being a revolutionary does not allow him to raise his hands in the face of the enemy, thus sacrificing himself. These events have happened in the last two weeks. Both the stance of Heval Rêdur Sîser and the stance of esteemed comrade Destan Botan in Nisêbîn are the lines of the period. The stance of Destan Botan, Rêdur Sîser and Ardem Ararat is a continuation of the stance of the friends of Xebat and Zana, who resisted in Mêrdîn last year, fought to the end and became martyrs; is the measure.
In short, there is such a war in Bakur. Recently, there have been reports of clashes on the Qashura line. It seems to continue. Because they talked about it today too. It seems that we may have martyrdom there, but we have not received any clear information.
In short, there is a heroic war and resistance in Bakur. Friends whose names I mentioned and did not say; We commemorate all our martyrs with respect, especially in the person of Leyla Sorxwîn, Canşêr Rojhilat, Xemgîn Serhat, Hêjar Zozan, Yaşar Botan and Comrade Elîşer. They are our pioneers, the bouncers of the time. They will always illuminate our path with their courage and heroism.
I would like to say one more thing here: Especially in this period, both in Bakur and in other war zones, the role and mission of Kurdish women are historical examples of how the power and will of Kurdish women who want freedom and how militancy developed. Comrade Leyla wasn’t just a YJA Star commander; she was the commander of the entire Botan Field, she. She had such a role. We will never forget the sacrifices and militancy of comrades Destan Botan, Ardem Ararat and Hêjar Zozan. They are sacrifices. Each one is a lion. Their leadership and courage are truly valuable. It is a source of pride for our people, a great source of pride for all Kurdish women. I especially remember them.
ZAP IS THE CENTER OF INVASION ATTACKS
What is the general situation in the war that is currently centered on Zap?
As it is known, the colonialist-genocidal Turkish state wanted to occupy the Bashurê Kurdistan line, which we call Medya Defense Areas, in a short time with its attack on Garê in 2021. It didn’t happen; They wanted to invade the next year, they came extensively and this year as well. In other words, for these three years, the Turkish state has been trying to occupy the Zap and settle there. This is still going on, there is a fierce war there. Certainly not only in the East and West Zap. Yes, there is also there, but there is also war in Metîna, Heftanîn and Xakurkê. There is resistance in many such places on the Bashur line. But today the center is Zap.
This three-year war in the Zap is a new page not only in the history of our movement, but also in the history of the Kurdish people. We are investigating the history of resistance in Kurdistan. No resistance has lasted 3 years in the same position as in the Zap. And even though the enemy now has all the weapons of the period in his hands, this is how it is developing. Moreover, the enemy in front of us uses all modern weapons. So it’s not a human versus a human war, it’s more a technology war than a aerial technique war. It has been used continuously for 3 years. Who knows how many tons of explosives touched each square meter of the zap line.
THE SUCCESS OF ZAP RESISTANCE WILL STRENGTHEN THE HAND OF THE BAŞUR GOVERNMENT
However, the treacherous and cowardly Turkish state did not stop there, they are using banned weapons, chemical and tactical nuclear bombs against us. Despite using banned weapons, using all modern weapons and putting tens of thousands of soldiers and guards into action, and the support of the Bashur force KDP, it has not succeeded so far. In other words, this resistance has reached an important level for our people. It is a source of pride for all Kurdish people. In other words, Kurdish girls and boys have been waging a war of will against the technology of the period for 3 years. They are waging this war with individual weapons. And the enemy cannot enter and occupy. It may have entered some places, but not everywhere. Can’t go to many places. This is truly a win for our people.
In our opinion, the success of the resistance here and the defeat of the Turkish state will strengthen the hand of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the politics of Bashure Kurdistan. The defeat of the Turkish state here will be a very important gain for all Kurds. This is the first time in history. It was the same in the Ottoman Empire before that, and it was the same in the Turks. When they went against the Kurdish movements, they got results in a short time. But now look, he’s been fighting against us for 8 years. So many of our friends are in the dungeon, so many politicians have been arrested, so many mayors have been dismissed and imprisoned, there is psychological torture on our Leader, and there is such a large-scale war on the guerrilla. For the last 3 years, these attacks have been happening in front of everyone.
OUR CASTLES ARE UNDERGROUND TUNNELS
Of course, there are some factors as well. Both the belief and determination in the guerrilla, the tactical expansion he made, the tactical wealth he developed and the innovation he created in himself formed the basis for this. Today, expert team warfare is carried out with mobile and semi-mobile teams on the ground. Again, the underground war is being waged. Just as there were castles that people resisted for months and years in the past, now our castles are underground tunnels. Each of our tunnels is a fortress. Despite the fact that the enemy has mobilized all its means, some of them cannot be knocked down despite trying for a year and a half.
Of course, this war is not just a war of self-preservation in the tunnels. No! There is a fierce battle on the land; It is a war waged with active defense method. So there is defense and there is attack. For example, the enemy admitted that 5 of his soldiers were killed and some of them were injured in the Zap. The enemy does not confess, but there are dead every day. However, the Turkish state hides them from their own people and everyone else. This is a fact. Undoubtedly, this war is very important and continues now. We develop strategy there, we develop tactical methods. We say ‘we will win there’. We also state that we will win despite the unbalanced opportunities. Yes; one side has a lot of weapons and numbers, while the other side has less weapons and numbers. But the will of the few who have little means is great; he has intelligence, he has self-sacrifice; he is right in his case. In this respect, our side also weighs heavily. Therefore, we say ‘we will be the winners in the end’. This is the case now, and it’s on its way to success. Our people should know; There are great strongholds of resistance, and the art and resistance shown there will take their place in Kurdish history with golden letters. Because it is nothing out of the ordinary; It is something extraordinary, important and historical. This is how it goes now and it will win.
A self-sacrificing war is being waged in Zap, but unfortunately the collaborative-treasonist line is still active. The KDP has taken action in the Western Zap Province. It helps the Turkish army in many ways and makes room for them. What is the reason for these approaches of the KDP? What does the KDP aim with these?
I believe something should be said about this. When we look at history, the first serhildan of the Kurdish people against the Ottoman Empire took place in 1806 with the departure of Abdullah Babanzade in Köysancak. It has been 217 years since. Since then, the Turkish state has always used two methods against all the serhildans of the Kurdish people, both in the Ottoman period and in the Republican period. What are these?
First; they have always played between the western powers and Russia, they have made Turkey’s geo-strategic situation the subject of bargaining, and they have tried and often received support from both sides for the suppression of the Kurdish Freedom Movement.
The second is; They deepened the contradictions among the Kurds, and at the same time, they constantly took a side of the Kurds to their side, went against the resisters and crushed the resisters in this way.
THE WAR IS NOT BETWEEN THE PKK AND Türkiye, IT IS BETWEEN THE KURDISH PEOPLE AND THE TURKISH STATE
The Turkish state wants to do the same thing today. Their efforts are in this direction. Our present is said to be hidden in history. If you want to understand the present well, you must know history well. A meeting was held in Turkey for days. It was the meeting of ambassadors of Turkey in different countries. There they discussed their strategy. They say, “The second century of the Republic, the growth period of Turkey, will be the century of Turkey”. They set four goals in front of them in their strategy and they expressed this in that meeting. The first of these is the Kurdish case. “For Turkey to become an ultra-large state in the region and to develop, it needs to get rid of the Kurdish problem. For this reason, we will eliminate this problem with intelligence, technique and relations.” The problem they say is probably only us, not the PKK. They support the statehood of the Kurds in the Middle East region, Against his status. This is how they act. In other words, they have formed their strategy on this basis. Erdogan, Bahceli, Perinçek and Ergenekon have allied themselves on this basis and they continue to do so. Their main meeting ground is anti-Kurdish. In fact, Erdogan openly said in his meeting yesterday, “We will continue our operations against the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in Northern Syria and Northern Iraq.” He actually threatened. They want to make this the basis of their international politics. So they’re laying the groundwork. He told NATO, “If you don’t want us to stay in NATO and go over to the Russian side, you have to solve this problem. In other words, you should reiterate your commitment to the Lausanne Agreement.” They are currently conducting their diplomacy on this basis. In other words, they have formed their strategy on this basis. Erdogan, Bahceli, Perinçek and Ergenekon have allied themselves on this basis and they continue to do so. Their main meeting ground is anti-Kurdish. In fact, Erdogan openly said in his meeting yesterday, “We will continue our operations against the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in Northern Syria and Northern Iraq.” He actually threatened. They want to make this the basis of their international politics. So they’re laying the groundwork.
In short, the war between us and the Turkish state today is not only the war between the PKK and the Turkish state, but actually the war between the Turkish state and the Kurdish people. If the Turkish state loses in this war, all Kurds will have won. The hand of all Kurdish politics in every part will be strengthened. Yes, now they want to take Zap first and then Garê. They mainly have their eyes fixed on strategic locations in the South. They want to hit two birds with one stone in this way: First, they want to deal a blow to the PKK; secondly, they want to take over the heart of Bashure Kurdistan. So whenever they squeeze it, they want to make it fall immediately. We need to see this.
On the other hand, we know that their supporters, the Turkmen section and other collaborators in the region, made maps for themselves in Kirkuk, Til Afer and Hewlêr, and that the MIT formed organizations there and called these places Turkmenistan. It is clear that the current policy of the Turkish government is based on the extermination of the Kurdish people. In other words, the destruction of the will of the Kurdish people. Enmity against the Kurdish people is fundamental to them and this is what brings them together. Apart from some of the political speeches they made, when all their speeches and efforts are examined, their main intention can be read.
THERE ARE SOME THINGS ABOUT KDP…
Despite such a clear situation, why does the KDP not oppose this policy of the Turkish state, but on the contrary help it; this is incomprehensible to us. I believe that no one who knows politics can understand it either. What is this really for? Because the KDP also says that it acts on behalf of Kurds and Kurdistan. However, the Turkish state wants to eliminate the Kurds and Kurdistan. Why is Rojava so against Kurdistan? Because they don’t want status to be established there. “Status in the South was wrong for us,” they say. If someone says that they have made a mistake about something, then does it not make up for it? And that’s what they want to do now. But why the KDP administration does not see any of these, why does it not consider them, and why does it help them, they really need to explain this. It’s not just us, All of our people do not understand. So let’s leave the whole Kurdistan Freedom Case aside; only Bakur is half of Kurdistan and we are at strait with the Turkish state. They want to strangle us; we want to strangle their genocidal policy. We are resisting in the dungeons, mountains and everywhere in Bakure Kurdistan. We have only one individual weapon in our hands; They have all the technology in their hands.
For example, our friends in Zap have been resisting with their own will and personal weapons for three years now. This is an honor and a source of pride for all Kurds. All Kurds can be proud of it. But we look; The Turkish state wants to break the resistance there and settle there; KDP is also working for them. Now some may say that it is not, but these are proven and visible. We do not say everything. KDP officials should be well aware that we, as the PKK, are not telling everything we know right now. There is much more if we tell you. Because there are such things that we do not want to open now. Now they see that the Turkish state is shrunken in the Zap. Despite using all kinds of weapons, they cannot solve the problem and they want to besiege Zap. But we see that the KDP has also been a part of this siege! This is military aid. Already, intelligence is helping, they share all kinds of information. Again, he remains silent in the face of what has been done. Before that, our person named Alan İsmail was martyred in an attack by the Turks in Çemankê (we remember him with respect and express our condolences to his family), but the KDP does not show any reaction to this. Civilians are also losing their lives, guerrillas are also martyred, but there is no reaction. No reaction means approval. This means political support. In other words, the political strategy of the Turkish state is to destroy the power, willpower and status of the Kurds. Therefore, they should not be helped. It should be opposed. Because it is dangerous for all Kurds. We do not understand this approach. For example; the guerrilla is using a place, going back and forth from there, he takes away his wounded; You see, they placed the peshmerga right there. Is a place empty; they immediately place a few peshmerga there. Turkish soldiers are there, we are here; once you see, they have established a base in the middle in the middle.
WE DON’T WANT A CONFLICT BETWEEN GUERILLA AND PÊSHMERGE
We do not want a face-to-face war between the guerrilla and the peshmerga. Indeed, we approach this matter very sensitively and responsibly. However, KDP officials and commanders also use it. Let me be frank; They know that we will not interfere with them; That’s why they’re closing all the roads. And this is the biggest aid to the Turkish state. Well, if Zap wins the resistance, you will gain from it too; The Turkish state will need you much more! I would like to say something to all our people and the public: There has never been a single face-to-face official war between the guerrilla and the peshmerga. Everything else has happened. If it is not prevented now, that is, if the practices of the KDP are not stopped, it is inevitable that it will happen. Even though we do not want to – and I believe that no Kurd does – they are interfering everywhere and getting ahead of us. Surely it will come across somewhere. If something like this happens, the world will really laugh at us. This would be a shame for Kurdish politics. Why don’t KDP officials see this?
In short, we have not been able to understand issues such as what they will gain if there is such a war, do they really want it, why are they doing this. But there is such a danger, and it is visible.
WHAT WILL KDP GAIN IF THE ZAP RESISTANCE IS BROKEN?
For this reason, I would like to once again appeal to our people. Frankly speaking, I am complaining about this understanding of politics. I call on all intellectuals, all artists, all writers, all impartial patriots, parties and politicians, all civil-democratic institutions: Come and see, who is right and who is wrong! If we’re wrong, let’s step aside. So I invite you to come and see it in person. Anyone who considers himself responsible for the future of the Kurdish people should not remain silent. He should make a sound and stand in front of him. The conclusion of the Turkish state’s policy in this area poses a danger to all Kurds. This has to be seen. So what will the KDP gain from this if Zap loses the resistance? We do not understand this. I myself never expected this. This level of opposition gets neither of us anywhere.
Also, a human conscience should be approached. For example, if it were me; there are two warring sides, one of them has tanks, cannons and every weapon, again hundreds of thousands of soldiers, agents, gangs and everything, he also uses forbidden weapons; The other side is Kurdish girls and boys, who have sacrificed themselves for their country, they are not after money, nor are they after personal interests, and they are fighting of their own will. If it were me, I would support them, that is, the underprivileged and the righteous. There is conscience, there is human dignity. We say, ‘be impartial, watch; Are we renewing or is it the Turkish state?’ For example, the Turkish state has everything; Do they need you so much that you are defending the Turkish state! This is not true and we cannot make any sense of it. For this reason, we want an initiative to emerge and prevent this situation. I am making this call for the last time. I hope you get results. If it doesn’t get results, we really can’t take it anymore. Because that’s not all. This needs to be seen and recognized.
A FEW HISTORICAL EXAMPLES THAT KDP SHOULD CONSIDER
I also have a call to the KDP and KDP President Kek Mesut: Remember that if we were not there, the Turkish state would not even greet you with this anti-Kurdish attitude. If they liquidate us, it will be your turn. This is a reality. You must see this and you must abandon your politics of supporting the Turkish state against the guerrilla. The guerrilla is patriotic; the guerrilla is sacrificing himself for this country; guerrillas are the children of all four parts of Kurdistan. As I said, if a war takes place and spreads between the guerrilla and the peshmerga, this war will not end for years. Isn’t this shameful for Kurdish politics? Doesn’t the world solve its most serious problems with dialogue? So why don’t the Kurds use the same method? Everyone should think about it.
I would also like to give two historical examples in this regard:
During the Lausanne period, it is a matter of debate whether the delegation from Turkey represented both Kurds and Turks. At that time, Kemal Atatürk calls the deputy of Dersim, Hasan Hayri. He said to her, “Come and put on your Kurdish clothes; go to the assembly; Speak Kurdish and say things like ‘The Lausanne delegation led by İsmet İnönü represents us Kurds too’, send a telegram” etc. says. Hasan Hayri does all of these. He goes to the parliament in Kurdish clothes and speaks and sends telegrams. In the same way, they direct many more people in this way. Then, when Kurdish notables are arrested after the Şêx Said incident, they arrest Hasan Hayri as well. They judge him; ‘You went to our parliament in Kurdish clothes and spoke Kurdish; They say, ‘This is a crime,’ and they give the death penalty. Hasan Hayri states that Atatürk told him to do these things.
The second example is; It is an example of Blind Hüseyin Pasha from Serhed. Kör Hüseyin Pasha was a friend of Şêx Ehmedê Barzanî. On the way back from his visit to him, he was treacherously martyred by an agent organized by the MIT (whose name was not MIT) at that time. Then they went after their children. There hasn’t been any cruelty to their children for 50 years. Now they do the same to their grandchildren. So who is Blind Hüseyin Pasha? He was a person who served the Ottoman and Turkish state for decades, had 40 thousand soldiers, defended Kurdistan against Russia, opposed the Şêx Said uprising, that is, served the Turkish state until the end, but in the end they brought these to him.
Both of these examples are examples for them to ponder, and there are many more such examples. That’s why I say, let’s see the reality of the genocidal Turkish state in this historical period. Keep yourself away from him and don’t support him. So even if we are not united, at least do not help the enemy. This is our expectation; this is our call. I believe this will get results. If not, the current situation is not a positive one, and it really contains dangers.

What I will say is this: We are in a really important period. Today, everyone in the Middle East region and around the world is preparing for war. The Turkish state also considers the new century of its republic as the rise of Turkey. In other words, there are dangers to the future of our people. However, our struggle on the basis of the 15 August Initiative, and especially the tactical initiatives made by the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in the last three years, and the level that emerged on the basis of the depth gained created the basis for success for us. All that remains is for our people to take up their responsibilities.
Our strategy is the Revolutionary People’s War. The Revolutionary People’s War is every patriot claiming his role. Nobody should say that nothing will happen to me; Everyone should do whatever they can. In other words, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla is resisting and fighting today. Kurdish politics is resisting. But our people also need to participate. It must be attended to. The enemy wants to develop spying, prostitution, drugs everywhere. Then they must be fought against, defended and organized. Our society must organize itself; Our youth must join the struggle. They should participate in the struggle on whatever basis they can participate in, whether political, social, serhildan, self-defense or guerrilla.
WE SHOULD FOUND OUR UNION, ENSURE OUR ORGANIZATION
While we have very important opportunities at our disposal in this important period, the depth we have created, especially in terms of tactics, can lead us to success. An example of this is the Zap resistance, which has been going on for three years. We can make it. We have experience. Here we enter our 40th year. We want to make the 40th year a big year, not an ordinary one. We have this level. The will, experience, tactical performance and experience created by the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla at the technical level actually formed the basis of great success. On this, we need to have only one joint decision. We need to establish our union and ensure our organization. If we do this, the 40th year will be a really big one. Everyone has to take responsibility for their duties. In other words, we do not mean the Revolutionary People’s War without meaning. Some people who don’t understand are claiming that their time has passed. It is not so. If we unite and organize as a people in this period; our pioneers have developed tactical performance and our strategy is correct; then no one can beat us. We will live free in this land. The enemy should know this too. They will not succeed against us. Even if some Kurds are on their side, they will still not succeed against us. Because the foundation laid today is at a level that will become the ground for your victory. We believe in this and we will develop our struggle by dwelling on it and deepening it. In this way, we will truly make the 40th anniversary of August 15 a great year of resistance. Our march will develop within this framework, the physical freedom of Leader Apo and the freedom of Kurdistan will certainly go a long way at this stage and the enemy will be defeated, our people will win, success will be ours. On this basis, once again, I congratulate everyone’s Resurrection Day.
