BRESCIA – This year, the event was organized by Radio Onda d’urto regularly for 31 years in Brescia, Italy. During the 18-day event, this year a special day was reserved for the freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the defense of the Kurdish people’s right to independence. Organized by Radio Onda d’urta and the Italian Kurdistan Information Bureau, the event called “Time of Hope” was held in the town of Bufflora in the city of Brescia. At the special event, thousands of people were informed about the Kurdish issue and protested the isolation on Abdullah Öcalan.

Owner of the comic book “Time of Hope”, which tells the life of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan as a comic in the tent set up in the field, and “No Stopping Until Shengal”, which tells the Êzidî massacre and Êzidîs in Shengal and sold more than 300 thousand in Italy last year. Chiara Crucciati and Rojbin Beritan, the authors of Zero Calcare’s book “Lonely Mountain” about the Yazidi people, attended as guests. “LET’S GROW THE FIGHT FOR LEADER APO’
Yılmaz Orkan, Head of Italian Kurdistan Information Office, made a speech at the event. Orkan said, “Leader Apo came to Italy 25 years ago. His aim was to resolve the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom in a democratic way. But he was imprisoned by an international conspiracy. He has been in prison for 25 years now. But there has been no news for 29 months and he is under intense isolation. İmralı “We, as the Kurdish people, have always continued our struggle. We will continue this struggle in the new period as well. In this process, we invite everyone, especially our Italian friends, to fight for Leader Apo,” he said.
Italian Writer Zero Calcare said, “Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah is the leader of a people and it saddens me that he has been in prison for years. He must be free now. We must be in solidarity with the Kurdish people who are fighting for this.”

After the speeches, the famous Italian Punkreas group OUNK and rock music group Gli Ultima took the stage. Thousands danced to the songs the band sang.
