ŞENGAL- Şengal Young Women’s Union and Êzîdîxan Youth Union commemorated the 3 August massacre martyrs with a torch march. At the end of the march, the young people issued a press statement stating that KD, which failed on 3 August 2014, is now trying to implement its 9 October plans.
The march, which started with the slogan ‘Cenga Azadiyê Serbixin’ from the Lofên road in Kolika village, continued until the Martyr Dilgeş and Martyr Berxwedan cemetery. During the march, the slogans “Martyrs are Immortals, Death to treason” were chanted.
After the march towards the martyrdom, oil lamps were lit in front of the martyrs’ graves and a press statement was made.
Sara Botan read the press release on behalf of the Yazidi youth;
Sara Botan said in her statement, “First of all, we commemorate all the martyrs of the 3 August massacre with respect and bow respectfully in front of their memories. At the same time, we respectfully commemorate our pioneers who gave their lives to protect this society, such as Mam Zeki, Saet Hassan, Pir Çeo, who were martyred as a result of enemy attacks. We want to give this message to our enemy from here, you can never destroy our people. As Yazidi youth, we will see ourselves responsible for the protection of this society and will follow the line of these martyrs until the end. At the time the massacre was ordered, a plan was made to destroy our society, but the brutal enemy brutality could not destroy us. Thanks to its resistance, the Yazidi community did not bow to this enemy, and will not bow to any massacres in the future, because there are those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their faith.”
In the continuation of the statement, Sara Botan emphasized the KDP’s plans to suppress the Yazidis and said, “The KDP was placed in its target area with the 3 August plan, but from now on it wants to do the same with the 9 October Agreement. We will not accept this, just as we do not accept the massacre.”
Êzîdîxan Youth Union Spokesperson Botan said, “The guerrillas who came to save us during the massacre saved us from being killed, today they are again faced with the attack of the Turkish State and we need to protect them. They organized us, made us strong and said goodbye to us and left, only the martyrs who were entrusted to us remained.”
