SHENGAL – Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) made a written statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the 3 August edict. YBŞ said, “We reiterate our promise to realize the dreams we gave to our martyrs and to enlarge the struggle in the person of our leaders Martyr Mam Zeki, Martyr Berxwedan, Martyr Zerdeşt, Martyr Said, Martyr Dijwar, Martyr Nazê, Martyr Berivan and Martyr Çeko.”
IF WE ARE LIVING IN THE HOLY LAND TODAY, IT IS THANKS TO THOSE ORGANIZED BY LEADER APO’S IDEAS
The YBŞ statement continued:
“With the 3 August 2014 edict, we organized YBŞ-YJŞ by starting our struggle for freedom with all our will, our effort and the price we paid to protect our lands. Under the leadership of our immortal Commanders Martyr Mam Zeki, Martyr Egîd Civyan, Martyr Dilşêr Herekol, Martyr Berxwedan, Martyr Zerdeşt, Martyr Dijwar and Martyr Said, we planted the first saplings of the Freedom Struggle in our holy lands. It was only Leader Öcalan’s militants who came to our aid in these days when we were struggling under difficult conditions. In those days, we realized that what caused us so much pain was that we had not built our organization. On this basis, we will be eternally grateful to the bouncers who sacrificed their lives for us. If we live in this holy land today, it is thanks to those who continue to struggle with Leader Öcalan’s ideas and sacrifice their lives for this cause. In this sense, as YBŞ, organized on the basis of Leader Öcalan’s ideas, we commemorate the heroic martyrs of HPG, YJA-Star, YPG and YPJ with respect and gratitude. Their labor for our freedom struggle will be the strength of our struggle for victory.
THE RESPONSIBLE OF THE Edict IS THE FASCIST TURKISH STATE AND ITS COOPERATIVE KDP
It is known by everyone that the 3 August edict targeted the faith, religion, holy, will and honor of our people. Thousands of our people, from seven to seventy, were killed, abducted and thousands of our girls were sold in the markets. The fate of thousands of our people is still unknown. Those responsible for this edict are the occupying and fascist Turkish state and its collaborator KDP. They did this with the hands of ISIS gangs. Those who introduced themselves as the defenders of our people fled that day, leaving our people to their fate. Those who caused all the suffering today want to destroy our values and free will that we have created with the labor and blood of thousands of martyrs. The Hewlêr and Baghdad agreement signed by the October 9 alliance formed by the Turkish state, KDP and Kazimi is the most concrete example of these dirty plans. With this, they attack the free will of our society. The best thing the KDP can do now is to apologize and put an end to its dirty cooperation with the Turkish state.
It is clearly seen that these attacks target not only our society but also the entire lands of Iraq and Kurdistan. With these attacks, they want all the components of the region to migrate and realize their dreams of occupying the region as soon as possible. All local peoples should be aware of them. If the components and societies in the region do not form a strong alliance, great massacres will occur every day.
Just as our martyrs fought as a trench and sacrificed their lives to prevent the invasion of the region, today we will not allow the invasion with the same sacrifice and struggle. As the force protecting its people and YBŞ, together with our people, we will choke down the dreams of the enemy who will make all the dirty projects and games of the occupying forces go to waste. Those who think that we will take a step back in the face of these dirty attacks should know this well; Our anger for revenge will increase day by day and we will crown the struggle handed over to us by our martyrs with victory. We are the sacrifices of our land, our sanctuaries, our faith, our culture, our history and all our values.
On this basis, we must continue our struggle in a larger way, take part in our struggle for self-defense in all areas and strengthen Shengal’s Democratic Autonomy. Our people living in besieged dungeons must now return to their lands and take their place in the rebuilding of Shengal. We will follow our martyrs until the last drop of our blood, and we will realize their dreams and goals as soon as possible.”
