NEWS CENTER – The KJK Coordination decided to run a campaign with the slogan “We Stand With Afghan and Shengal Women Against Hegemon Men’s Attacks” between August 3, the anniversary of the genocidal attacks against Shengal, and August 15, the anniversary of the Taliban’s seizure of power in Afghanistan.
In a written statement, YPJ General Command commemorated those who lost their lives in the Yazidi genocide nine years ago and said, “The barbarian gangs of ISIS massacred, the military forces of the PDK left the people alone and fled, while the global hegemonic powers silently watched this massacre. On August 15, 2021, the Taliban seized Afghanistan with the same genocidal mentality. “Under the name of the peace treaty, the Taliban came to power and committed many crimes against humanity with the approval, support and cooperation of international forces,” said.
YPJ said, “We strongly condemn these brutal attacks by women and enemies of life. We also commemorate all our heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives with their weapons and chests against these massacres.”
Stating that despite all these brutality and genocides, Afghan and Yazidi women rejected slavery and made their voices heard all over the world, YPJ said, “For this reason, we salute the honorable resistance of Afghan and Yazidi women and promise all women who are victims of the persecution of the man in power, from Rojava to Shengal and We will raise the women’s liberation struggle to Afghanistan more than ever before,” said.
Pointing to the attacks targeting women with the Turkish state’s invasion attacks, YPJ said, “The murder of female activist Nagîhan Akarsel in Silêmaniyê, Jîna Eminî in Rojhilatê Kurdistan, Evîn Goyî, the leader of the Free Women’s Movement in Europe, and female activist Mursel Nebîzade in Afghanistan. It was realized with the policy of the patriarchal mentality of capitalist modernity”.
Stating that as Arab, Assyrian, Turkmen and international women, they have made their voices heard to all women of the world and that they still protect the democratic nation system today, YPJ announced that they will participate in the KJK’s “We Stand With Afghan and Shengal Women Against Hegemon Men’s Attacks campaign.”
The statement said:
– We will strengthen our self-defense system against the male-dominated mentality, both in terms of the ideology of women’s liberation and in line with legal protection.
– Just as we share our experience and knowledge on war and self-defense with Shengal women, we are ready to share the same experience with Afghanistan women.
– As YPJ, we are ready to fulfill our historic duties to build a global women’s protection system.
We will avenge all women in the person of Mursel Nebîzade from Afghanistan, Jîna Eminî in Rojhilatê Kurdistan and Berivan Êzîdî from Shengal, and we will give women and humanity a free future.”
